Ok so back on topic, I am at 707/1000 as of last night. I have 9 more days left to go and have been typically averaging around 30 - 45 messages per day. Anyone want to guess if I will go over? Thank you Sir, missed my calling you think?
for those of you who did;nt get it, i used to text more, but now that we have unlimited m2m i do that more and text less.
I don't even have to go past my generation, my husband is a brilliant Physicist but he can never remember that all he has to do is push & hold the "1" button to listen to his voicemail. He goes through all the messaging menu and finally stumbles on to the right option. Then he forgets that the password is already programmed in wants to know what it is.
You're slighty ahead of me. But my brother has already used 1,945 through 18 days of this billing cycle!
Wow, that's a lot of SMS for all 3 of you, but 1945 in 18 days is insane. I guess I am more old school and prefer to talk more then text, or my problem is I don't want to go over, since my kids text a lot & I try to conserve my usage.
This is a formal request for you to remove my quote and Charlyee's quote from your signature. If it is not removed, I will speak to Joe and the MODS directly!!! One request, thats all!

This is a pleasant surprise. Thank you Tony, now we can continue on with our hopeless addiction to text messaging. So, continuing on with my saga, I had 102 messages on Friday, so yesterday I was 851/1000 with 6 days left to go...hmm . This morning my OLAM says "data can not be posted", which has been pretty normal for a Sunday.
Thank you for the opportunity Tony, now is the time for us senior members to raise our levels of maturity and responsibility to the new people reading these threads. I promise to do my part! Thanks again, Steve
Well, since I have a unlimited text, plix/flix to Verizon customers, and 500 out of network messages, I use anywhere between 50-100 per month out of network and close to 50 per month in network. Most of my messages are to Verizon customers so usage is generally low. The out of network messages are when I get a e-mail notification (carbon copy) and when I e-mail myself custom ringtones that I have made.
I actually had a slow month last month... only 1100 text, and 26mb of Data... That's extremely low for me. ~*Ash*~
Senior members acting mature...so what us junior members arent mature? back to Topic: Ive currently used 723 messages and i am 28 days in to my billing cycle with 87 megs of data used (been traveling a lil). My sister has used 2,854 messages this month. Shes got me beat.
My billing cycle ended yesterday at 1079 out of my 1000 meessage pool. It's not too bad actually, I thought I would be over by much more than that
A question, are those 79 being billed at 15 cents or 10 cents? Now if you have to pay at 10 cents that would be $7.90 and it might be worth it for you to take the M2M SMS for $5. Now there is one thing that is going weird on my account, my int'l SMS is counting against my SMS bucket and it does not look like I am being charged for them. It happened before, actually for the past 3 months and I am not going to call and complain about it.
The overage is billed at 3 cents a minute, so not too bad. You do know that all incoming international SMS does come out of the pool if you have one, right? Ofcourse if both in & out are coming out of your pool then you have a bargain going on there.
3 cents a minute for SMS usage? Wow. Our last shared SMS usage was 1007 out of 1000 & again is outgoing only. Since the 7 were MMS It was billed higher then the standard SMS rate.
Correct all in is against the plan and my Out are counting against my plan. I just hope they will not catch it and then end up with a nice extra charges.
Thank you, Tony, for re-opening this thread. I am on day 10 of my billing cycle and have used 2112 IN Texts, 73 'OUT' Texts, 119 IN MMS, 7 OTHER MMS.
Hey, i have a question. I have a motorola v3 w/ Cingular service. I have the 1000 text messaging plan. if i turn on AIM on my phone and someone IMs me, it just comes as a text message right? no other additional charges?
As far as I know it would just count as a regular SMS, no additional charges. Be careful, though, those IM's can quickly deplete your SMS bucket!
The messages themselves will only cost you a text message, but when you load the program, it uses data to connect, and see who's online. And it will "refresh" every few minutes, it only uses a small amount of data per session usually, but after a month, those can quickly add up, especially if you don't have a data package. ~*Ash*~
Oh so the Instant messages themselves will use SMS and the application itself uses data? So in essence there will be two different charges for using Instant Messaging- SMS and Data? That sucks!
