Wow! Now I'm not feeling so inferior up here in CT!

Was using the coffee shop wifi @ 0.37Mbps. Turned it off and went LTE.

    What a difference!!!

It basically came down to me missing Android, the customization aspect (widgets, custom launchers, etc), and the superior notification system on Android. It is nice having a much bigger screen to browse websites online, reading/replying to emails, and watching videos (Netflix, YouTube, and controlling my DVR/watching live TV with SlingPlayer).

Also it is nice having a notification light on my phone. I have already rooted my phone and unlocked the bootloader. And one of these days, I may install a custom ROM. Although for now, I am happy with the software on the phone, so I see no need to change it.

I will do a comparison of my personal experience with the two OS in the near future.

Okay. I get the screen size, although not for me, I have an iPad mini. And the other stuff too, because that's your preference.

But what about the 'eventual slowdown' with Android that you wrote about, requiring rebooting? And reduced battery life over time? I do understand that the sheer physical size of the Note gives you a big battery, but at the cost of a big device.

Hopefully you will cover that to the benefit of us all.

Enjoy you new phone! Congratulations. So what does an iPhone 5 go for on eBay. Curious minds wonder....

The "eventual slowdown" occurred due to the MAXX not having sufficient RAM (1GB RAM in the MAXX versus 2GB in the Note 2), and also a less powerful processor (dual-core in MAXX vs. quad-core in the Note 2).

So all of these things (faster processor and increased RAM) help make the experience better. My MAXX at the time had ICS on it. Jelly Bean, on the other hand, has been a better experience for me. On the Note 2, JB is very fast, smooth, and a overall great user experience. Hopefully iOS gets a much needed refresh for iOS 7.

Also reduced battery life tends to happen with most Smartphones over time (Lithium-ion batteries have only so many charging cycles before the overall battery life is reduced).

As for the sheer physical size of the Note 2, it does not bother me. At first it seemed like it would be a big deal, now 4.3" screen devices seem small to me. Plus it helps that I have big hands. I can use this phone one-handed and holding it up to my ear does not seem awkward. Also, phones do not have to be big to have a big battery (my MAXX was smaller and had a smaller screen, yet it had a 3300 mAh battery).

The prices of the iPhone 5 on eBay varies depending on the condition, what was included, etc. When I was selling my 64GB iPhone 5 on eBay, the final price in auctions was between $600 to $675 (this price was reached if you happen to have an unlocked iPhone 5).
