Just hooked up our new Wi-Fi router at our home in Gaffney, here's the result: And here's our wired broadband connection:
Lately I've been feeling my connection is slower than it should be. Here's my test today. I have Optimum Online w/ Boost with is supposed to be "up to 30 Mbps for downloads and up to 5Mbps for uploads" It looks like I might not be getting what I'm paying for on the download side.
My speed test over wireless-N on my laptop (I am on the 25 Mbps down/2 Mbps up bonded ADSL2 package):
I has been improving year on year and now on 3rd year with Verizon coming from optonline in Long Island where my speeds at night used to go way down and based on friends it is still the same issues. Just to be sure I tested with anohter server and I chose the New York one and here are my results (at least now I know it is not just local testing)
Fastest my upload speed has been at home, finally above 2.00. Also one of my fastest download speeds: and here's our wifi with my laptop:
Time Warner in OC. So glad I finally figured out why I was having so many issues. As you can see the standard modem with my new Netgear Wireless N router and notebook adapter are working very well.
So the problem was your router? My test is better then the last one: I picked the test point in Bermuda. :coolshade
The router(s) and the built-in WiFi in my notebook were causing the connection and speed issues. I am still waiting for the next outage from TW.
ADSL package with max. 8mbit bandwidth. I got this last night, but will switch next month to 1mbit package, as this eats up the quota faster.
Well until the past few days I had been getting a consistent connection of around 5 Mbps on my DSL or a bit above. My speeds though have been way down tonight and this morning though. I also noticed that my PING ratio is higher too, not good. I don't know what's going on but over on some other sites some others on CenturyLink DSL are complaining about poor speeds lately as well.
My Comcast 12/2 connection. I wish CenturyLink could offer that 25M connection to me; alas, all I will qualify for is 1.5M.
AT&T 3G speeds near the Ann Arbor, MI area. Quite snappy. AT&T EDGE speeds near my house up in Northern MI. Painfully slow.

This my speed over wifi with an N connection. Now to get it in here, click on The Go Advanced tab for replying and on the icons on top of the reply box you will see and you click on it, paste the link in there, click on OK and then post. Hope that helped.
