He is just talking about the roaming clause in the contract, the phones are working for him. It's just that he moved out of the native alltel area....:)

Well, even if that's the case he should have cancelled durring the trial period if he wasn't happy.

Well he is happy with the service and i believe not in the trial period. He and others are debating whether or not alltel will enforce the roaming clause. I guess i could be wrong though, i am reading from wap, haha.

You are taking the comment COMPLETELY out of context. Read the entire thread.

He isn't saying they don't receive service. He's saying that they are not USED in the home service area to which they are programmed for. They are used in areas where they ALWAYS roam.

    Get it?

i mis-spoke. the phones work FINE, but i'm NEVER in my home base area with three of them and only half the time with the fourth, and alltel has never had an issue with that.

I'm sorry, I guess I misunderstood the situation, and yes, I have been reading the entire thread.

I'd really still Like to know "how it works". I assumed if my call went back to some switch in my old hometown it did so over some leased line that would be fixed cost for alltel anyway. so if my calls to my old hometown friends originate in my hometown wouldnt that actually save alltel $ not going long distance over a landline?
