I will be in Bermuda in May & would like to buy a local sim card to use in my GSM quadband unlocked phone. I have done this in Aruba (Digicel) & have found it to be much less expensive then roaming on Cingular. Does anyone have any information on this subject? Thanks

I was in Bermuda with my family 2 years ago. Googling, I found prepaid services (ie SIM cards) for ~$85 that included 30 minutes. Cingular's rate was $1.99 a minute so it didn't seem like a good deal for 1 week stay. I stayed with Cingular roaming and found that Txt messaging to family in Bermuda and the US came out of my package minutes...therefore was free. That worked out well, and the small number of voice calls was well below $85. You just need to decide on your usage.

However, I did find a Cingular/bermuda web page that offers local SIM cards at a much better rate. I don't know if it is still in date, but maybe you can check it out (http://www.cingular.bm/prepaid.htm) and http://www.cingular.bm/contact.htm

ATT used to be in Bermuda and became Cingular. However I thought there was another change too. But the web page is still valid and has some phone numbers in Hamilton.

    Good Luck
