Okay, I checked the postings and couldn't seem to find an answer to this question. My husband is the primary name on the account, but has given me permission to make changes on the account with VZW. We have 2 separate phone numbers on the account. I have the primary number, he has the secondary (his choice when we originally set this up). I need to separate my line onto a new account altogether, completely separate from his line with his account name, as my phone is paid through my business accounts, and it's becoming a hassle. If I go into VZW and change my line to a separate account, will: A) I have to start with a brand new plan, so my NE2 will start over completely? B) If the answer to A is "yes," then does that mean I can also take advantage of any "new customer" deals? I really want the Storm, but if I'm not treated as a "new customer" with a new account, then I'm guessing I won't be able to get it at the $199 price. Thanks in advance!! Jodi
Well, just a follow up... I went into VZW today and because I already had authorization to make changes on the account, they were able to change my number onto my own account. Since I was already 1 year into my contract as of Feb, they went ahead and just made my contract into a 1-year contract (into starting over with a 2-year contract), so my eligibility for NE2 will be unaffected. So, I was in and out in about 15 minutes. While I was waiting, I was able to play with the Storm....niiicee! I can see how it takes a bit of time to get used to the keyboard, but it's no harder than using the Pearl's Suretype....the only sad part is my Pearl's keyboard is now used to my key combos and the Custom Dictionary is all set up....so certain shortcuts I have obviously weren't on the Storm....but I can see when the glitches are ironed out, how this would be a nice BB!
just for future reference for anyone who reads this.....carriers care more about contracts and numbers......you port out a number you lose the contract and pay the ETF......unless you talk to them ahead of time and get them to replace the ported out number with another number automatically.....you can merge a bunch of lines together and separate them all apart and the company wont care as long as someone is living out and paying the life of the contract
