to send ring tones, do NOT USE aol.... AOL block sound attachments (.wav, .mp3, .midi ect.)...

you can use a free service, i suggest yahoo... mail the .midi to your phone as an attachment and it should be ok.

Log into Yahoo! Mail (or what ever service you are using..) and send yourself an email to your phone (the address is 10digitphonenumber@vzwpix.com).

In the email, ATTACH the MIDI you want to send to your phone (the midi must be UNDER 30kb) to the email. and dont forget the subject!

    Send teh song...

When you get the song, press the options softkey (i tHINK its the right one, but not sure...) and select 'Save Sound' and save teh sound to the phone.

if you do not get a song or any message what so ever, you have to call CS @ *611 and tell them you need pix messageing activated for your account.

To set the ringtone once u dled it: press menu -> my media (7) -> Music (2) -> find the ringtone and press 'set as' (left soft key) and select what you want to do with it...

OMG! Stupiud, your directions for putting midi files on the vx-6000 were so easy!!! I've been collecting them for years with no discernable use for them except that I like them until now. For the moment I have Enya's "Watermark" as my caller-id ringtone. Thank you![IMG]

as an MIDI, it's inherently polyphonic...

Stupiud, I tried everything you said here and I got the tones to come through the phone on the email, But I can't get them open and saved to the phone. Its a LG VX6000. I know you said to push the soft options button and then on save sound, but that is not an option in that option list on my phone. What am I doing wrong?? I am sending the tones as attachments from a yahoo email. I would really like to start downloading ringtones on my new phone. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am sooooo confused right now with it. Thanks
