I saw this same problem somewhere else. I did the seem exactly how its discussed. I turned off the phone and pulled the battery for about a minute. Restarted the phone and pluged it up and MPT still didn't see the phone with the Multimedia Studio's software. Then I found somewhere else how to change the detect driver and that just screwed it all up. MPT couldn't find the damn phone. So I went in and manualy setup the phone as a Razr v3mm and boom, it works!

But, I can't seem edit now. I enter the right values and click load from phone and it kinda freezes a little and the screen stays blank. And it doesn't load anything. I even tried saving the original seem to the phone and redoing it and still nothing.

    What did I do wrong?

And actually what I'm trying to acomplish is, this is a Verizon phone and I'd like to get rid of the verizon bars on top prefibly, like it looks on my alltel phone. And I want to change the orange screen on the small lcd to the graphic like my alltel phone has.

Ok, per our PM discussion, you have two phones. An Alltel V3c, and a Verizon V3m. The Alltel phone doesnt need any seem edits to work with MPT. Verizon does b/c Verizon disables these features. At any rate:

There are TWO seem edits to make the Verizon V3M work with MPT

    1) Seem 2742, Record 1, Bytes 0, Offset 006a, Bit 0 - Check to ON
    2) Seem 2827, Record 1, Bytes 22, Offset 0006, Bits 0-2-3-6 ON, Bits 1-4-5-7 OFF

Now, you probably did one of them correctly by following the directions. However, when u mentioned that u tried to do another seem edit after restarting the phone, and p2kseem kind of froze, it sounds like you forgot to start MSU first. Thats the typical mistake. Make sure u start and leave MSU open, THEN open P2Kseem, and it will keep it from freezing.

As for gettting rid of the red bars on the verizon...you cant by seem edits or anything like that. You must flash the phone. Currently, the only flash for the v3m is Alltel's v3c's firmware. This will make it LOOK exactly liek your phone, but it will in essence, turn her v3m into a v3c which means no more transflash card slot. Alltel's V3M firmware hasnt been leaked to the public yet, so that isnt possible unfortunately. As soon as it is, you can guarentee I will be using it ;)

Lastly, as for getting the orange gone on the LCD when the phone is shut, there is a seem edit to have it show whatever the wallpaper is set to:

Seem 2742, Record 1, Bytes 0, Offset 94 Bit 7 - VZW V3C/M outside LCD - Check to be ORANGE, Uncheck for Graphic

Ok, cool! All I gotta do now is upgrade myself to an Alltel V3m. The only reason I didn't get that for my wife is because she has to have pink!

So you dont care if you can't use the TF Card on your m?

Yea, I guess you could have got herthe Alltel V3M, and bought a pink housing online. A little work, but woulda been best of both worlds for her...and you.

But nope, I dont need the tf card in my phone. Thats what my ipod is for. The media player/listening to music absolutely drains the battery on the verizon v3m especially.

Yeah, but I didn't know anything about these phones then. And I was told that there was no way to swap the housing. I told her I could just spray paint hers hehe... I'd love to have the M and I dont have to worry about battery life cause my phone is mostly on the USB.
