I am going on my first vacation in 6 years, just wanted to say if anyone else is going away to have a good time & be back to catch up in just about 2 weeks. Myrtle Beach Here I come. Woo Hoo.
I hope you have an excellent time in the Myrtle Beach area, Tom. Be sure to take some pictures and post a review when you get back.
What they said and a complete coverage comparison between At&t, T-Mobile, and Sprint ofcourse. Have a fabulous vacation.
Me to. I have not had a real vacation in almost as long as Tom has. Tom, Hopefully the beer and Myrtle Beach are doing you good.
Hey wait minute, you are going "poof" about once every 3 months, so that's 4 months out of the year. So, even if 1/10th. of that was spent in R&R that's still 0.4 months or approximately 12 days/year. Just teasing you.
I wish there was some R&R but when gone it is actualy a lot more work than being here at home. One has to get the most out their expenses when traveling.
Thank you everyone I had a great time during the hottest time in close to their history down there (the days were 115 with the heat index which made the beach extra nice :browani: ) I have some cell site pictures only, don't want to post the others (well maybe a couple) Coverage was interesting & the place we stayed in had coverage issues for every carrier inside due to the fire resistive building materials, but I could use my phone on the 6th floor with no problems, I had only slight issues with Sprint in our room couldn't use them on the balcony but could by the front balcony & part of the room. T-Mobile originally roamed on Suncom, then I got an OTA update & roamed on AT&T for most of the week. (it was interesting my Alpha Tag said "Cingular" in SC & AT&T in NC. My mother had problems with Alltel in & around the hotel, yet my friends Verizon was able to work, I think it was her phone. Most of Myrtle beach had decent coverage with all carriers, Boardwalk on the Beach was good with the exception of the underwater walkway in Ripleys Aquarium & no one could use their phones in there. The only place I had poor coverage was at the Zoo & on the Jungle Princess sunset boat ride in the very beginning where it was docked, My Sprint/Nextel & T-Mobile roaming on Suncom worked fine for the time docked, 5 mins out I had excellent coverage on all my phones. I also noticed on 95 in NC I lost Sprint service about 4 times & once in VA, otherwise they were ok with an average 95 -db readings throughout Myrtle Beach some calls were garbled with them too in some areas but not too bad, no problems with AT&T or T-Mobile. No problems in Williamsburg with AT&T, T-Mobile or Sprint in most of the outdoor locations & spotty indoors with all 3 in some stores, no issues around Colonial Williamsburg with all 3. Overall I was happy with AT&T & my phone & even satisfied with Sprint/Nextel and T-Mobile on the major roadways, I am sure with an 850 ability Sprint phone I could have been better since again when I lost service I couldn't find someone to roam on.
Just glad to have you back, Tom. We understand about the personal pix... Good to know of your carrier coverage experiences. I bet you're glad to be back in cooler N.J.!
Sorry for not posting sooner. :O I had a great time. It was so nice to be able to walk outside for hours, and see the beach again. Also not be around a computer for a week was nice. Welcome to Bullhead City, AZ... I mean welcome back Fire!. Out here the lake is the only place to be outside in the summer.
Welcome back, Tom! Our vacations were so close together in time I couldn't wish you a good one, but glad to hear you had a great time!
