This looks like it will be an awesome phone. If I still have Verizon, I'll pick up the V9m/V9c when it launches some time in the fall of 2007. Finally Motorola is updating their RAZR's!!

Yeah, it appears there will be 3 versions of this phone. GSM w/ EDGE, GSM with 3G, and CDMA. I wonder why they even bothered with the EDGE model, unless it is going to be a quadband. The 3G offerings right now don't seem to be quads.

You are almost correct, sorry Jay ;) .

Both variants of the GSM are quad band. The one without HSDPA(also called the V8) uses Motorola's Linux-Java user interface.

    For your reading pleasure. :)

That is true. I think the V9 might be a couple months behind the V8. I would not doubt Cingular holding out for that one as the iphone crazy time would have passed. I sure think this would be good and if they did on this what they did on the Ming (which was a great improvement over the A780 this would be an incredible OS.

Anyone know if USCC will have this phone?

Motorola just announced this phone a few days ago, and it won't be released until Q3 at the earliest. It is hard to say at this point who will carry it, but it appears to be a replacement for the current V3, V3xx, and V3m models.

Yeah, I'm sure they'll have it... Someday. I've got USCC as well. they are the best in our area for boondock coverage, but SUCK at getting tech out. takes them forever to get new technology out to the customer.

not to mention they tend to lead the local market in hardware pricing. and by lead, I mean they are the highest, with weak sales on phones. IMHO

Just like when my mom bought her "new" TracFone about a year ago. It was a Motorola V60. When she was tired with coverage issues I just bought her a line on my plan, and she has a nice Motorola L2 that she absolutely loves, and I'm going to give her my old V3 in a month or so.
