A few websites have posted pictures of the next RAZR. For some reason the name LAZR has been given to this phone but that is certainly not official. For now it is the RAZR V9.

It is thinner than the RAZR, has a metal exterior, huge exterior screen and non-CDMA versions run Linux. This is based on SCPL platform which will add some "interesting" keypad changes. The official announcement will be soon.

Another new phone to leak this week is the Verizon RIZR Z6tv which as the name implies has mobile TV support. The GSM RIZR Z6 is being renamed ROKR Z6 so this phone may also be changed.

Finally the Verizon RAZR Ve MAXX software was signed off on this week with ship approval likely next week. Online sales only could begin by mid April.

It looks thicker than the RAZR. Can we expect it to be as thick as, say, the KRZR and as wide and long as the RAZR? I wish the person who took the picture would have used objects that we could use as a size reference rather than things that look "cool."

bonoriffic, is the reason the CDMA versions don't run the Linux based firmware because BREW isn't available on Linux? If not, does someone know the reason?
