I have a Sanyo 7050 that I have been tethering to my old Windows XP laptop when travelling....yes I pay for PAM. Recently upgraded computer and now running Vista. Have tried to get both the Connection Manager and Smartview to work with no success. Smartview loads but does not recognize the phone when connected via usb. The computer asks for the drivers for a Sanyo sy01 modem - which I can not find anywhere. With the Connection Manager, the Sanyo 7050 is not listed as a supported device. However, if I download Connection Manager to a system running XP the Sanyo 7050 is shown as a supported device. Any suggestions and help would be appreciated. Oh yes, have tried the Sanyo site with no luck.
Not sure I can be of any help, but if you are paying for PAM you should get a phone with EVDO data to get better use of your money. Smartview probably doesn't work with the 7050 because it is newer and not many people probably want to tether with 1x devices. I would suggest just going through the install process on the Connection Manager and select to install the Sanyo drivers, even if the 7050 is not specifically listed. It may still work, then you might be able to connect with SmartView.
