Hey everyone, I just bought my Sanyo 5300 from amazon.com today, so i should be recieving it shortly before Christmas. Anyway, I am just saying hello, I have been watching these boards for a little while, and they helped me decide on the sanyo 5300, I hope I am happy with it and that it does not become obsolete too quickly. Anyway, I hope that I can get a lot more good info from you guys, seeing as you have already helped me a lot in my choice of cell phones.
You will not be sorry with this phone. I have owned mine for almost 3 weeks and I still can't stop playing with it. It is the best phone I have owned, and I have had a total of 8 well phones in 3 years. This one will definitely be with me for a long, long time. Make sure that you check the software version of your phone when you get it. Just go to Phone Info in the menu. Make sure that you have software version 1035. If not then go to the Sprint store and get it upgraded to that because oterwise the receiver volume is way too low. The upgrade will fix that. Please post again when you get your phone and let us know how you like the it and if you have any questions we are here to help
This phone is the top of the line so far in US. I really like mine too, as amylyn said, you just can't put it down..But About the upgrade, I went to two sprint store, and none of them even heard of the upgrade. Kind of disappointing for a "sprint" store.
I agree.I live in South Florida and the retail center says they have not received the download for 1.035 yet.Do you all think that in time the web speeds will get better.I mean it takes forever sometimes to download stuff and searching for sites on Google.Perhaps the boaed moderator has some info he could apprise us with.I just thought the new G3 technology was suppose to be alot faster. At this point I'm glad I bought the phone for the graphics and not the speed.
Hey guys! Im a new User in this forum. I got the 5300 for already 1 month and Like you/all sayd the phone is great! I just have the same problem with the Volumen of it. I also wanted to know if anyone uses this phone to access the net w/ it. I'll really wanted to know where can I get the data cable for it (If it exist) or what can I do? Thanks a lot guys for any help that I may get. And Im sorry If you guys already posted any of this info.
Welcome! As far as the cable, you can get it at the link below, or some have found it at Radio Shack, but mine locally didn't have it. I used FutureDial and recieved it in about 3 days. The cable for the 4900 also works for the 5300. Apparently Radio Shack will begin carrying FutureDial's software needed to Sync the phone for the phone book as well as ringers and wallpaper. Stay tuned.
Ramman The Sprint store in Coral Springs has the software but the tech there has fried a phone already so he told me that he is holding off on any more upgrade attempts until Sprint gives the O.K. Are you going to the store on Broward Blvd??.... Make sure you post when you get it done and I'll do the same. PONG
Yes Pong...the one on Broward and the manager is going to call me as soon as the 1.035 is available and then I'll let you know. They also should have the data cables and software in very soon as well.
Ramman Thanks for looking out. I'll be checking back with the Coral Springs store on Monday so if I hear any good news, I'll be sure to post it. By the way, on another forum I read that a few of the people that got successful updates, had a couple of glitches. It seemed that some of the phones came back with the animations missing(seraching for signal, making a call, etc.) and the calculator graphic not there any longer. Some people aren't even aware that this has happened cause most people don't use the calculator function. Hope they fix these glitches before ours get done. PONG
Sorry about the end of my last post... guess that problemwith the upgrade has already been brought up on this forum in another thread. I'm just a litttlle sloww.... duh. PONG
Hi Pong,Yes I've read about those glitches as well and before I have my update done I will check to make sure they have another 5300 available and then I will check everything on the 5300 after the upgrade to make sure nothing got deleted.
I should be getting the phone in two or three days, I am very excited. I will post when I recieve the phone and will see if it shipped with v34 or 35. Hopefully I got an updated phone, but we'll see. Until then, good luck with upgrades.
Good luck. Hopefully you'll get thr .035 version so that you can avoid all this crap everyone is going through with the upgrades. PONG
Would Amazon replace its stock of 5300s when newer software comes out? Is there any way to know what you're going to get?
Hey there! Where in MD did you get your upgrade to 1.035 done for the Sanyo 5300? I went to the the Gaithersburg Store (they said 1.034 was their latest version), and the Rockville store said they fried some phones and don't want to do the upgrade until the next release or something to that effect. Would greatly appreciate your reply. Thanks again. Can't wait to get the upgrade myself, been to 4 stores now with no luck.
