Ok, what gives? Yesterday evening I signed up with www.matrixm.com. I bought one wallpaper and a few free ringtones. Now today, I cannot get any ringtones or wallpaper. When I hit the buy button it give me a page cannot be displayed error. It has been doing this since 5:30 this morning. I have even tried more free ones and nothing. I am getting upset here. Has anyone else had ths problem? I have a credit of $4.86 so that's not the problem. [IMG]

Everything is now working at www.matrixm.com. I guess they were updating or something. I'm happy again [IMG]

Ya that site seems to go down every now and then... I Know it's an international site, maybe they get a lot of traffic from certain regions at odd intervals. Like I know times I've been able to buy pics that are already uploaded, but when I tried uploading my own I'd get errors. It'll go on and off, but when something's not working it usually seems like it's back up in two or three hours.

Anytime I try to download screensavers via MaxtrixM it tells me that my phone does not support animated screensavers, so I can't seem to get any!!!! What do I do?

How did you sync everything with Outlook, did you use PCS Business Connection? Let me know

    Peace[IMG]

Business connection, as I understand, doesn't actually sync your contacts. It just allows you to dial into Outlook, granted that your computer is ALWYAS running, through the wireless web. I hated it, personally. I want my contacts ON my phone, not just accessible through the web. And I think for some reason the format of animations on the 5300 is different, and I'm pretty sure I heard somewhere on marixm's website that they're working on that. But for now I don't of any way around that. Sorry.

Business connection doesn't allow you to actually sync your contacts w/your phone, it just makes them accessible (provided your computer is ALWAYS on, with outlook running, and connected to the internet) through the wireless web. Personally, I don't like it.
While the 5300 seems to support animated screen savers because of the few presets that it comes loaded with, I think I heard somewhere in the matrixm forums that there's a weird quirk with making them for sprint phones and the 5300 in particular. I think they're working on a way around it, but for now I'm pretty sure you're limited to just pics. Take a look around in their community forums. Might find out more.

I just bought my 5300 (12/15). How do I know what version I have?? Also, where can I get a simple ring? The rings on the Sprint Website are sooooo loooong and complicated. I don't want to be embarassed in public. Just a simple electronic ring. The one the phone came with is awful (Tone 1).

I guess just wait until they are supported. For a while, their site said that they were supported. But, then one needed the plugin for it. I downloaded an animated screensaver, and my phone yelled at me about needing a plugin.

SF guy, there's quite a few rings built into the phone. Check them out before buying anything from sprint. You can check your phone version by pressing the "menu/ok" button, the scrolling all the way down (or just up, once) to the bottom of the menu and click on "phone info," then scroll to "version." The first line says "software" and the ideal version to have right now is 1.035, while you might have 1.034. If you want to upgrade, you have to take it to a sprint store. Not sure if you've read many posts here yet, but if you have them do the upgrade check ahead of time to make sure they have an extra 5300 in stock just in case they fry your phone. They can also hook your phone up and print out all of your contacts so you don't lose those either, you can re-input them into the new phone. (just in case.) Hope this helps.

Thanks. I purchased my phone at CompUSA on 12/15 and the version is 1.034SP. They had been waiting for the phone for several weeks. As far as I can tell, they are the only store in the Bay Area with the phone. The Sprint Store only received one shipment and is waiting for another. So I guess I will wait a while and then go to the Sprint store to get the upgrade.
