I was just thinking out loud, since sanyo 4900 can run applications that u download, is there a browser out there somewhere that will run as an app and support only the old 2G content like the old pcs wireless web? most of the stuff on the old one worked, and till vision improves, it would be nice to use the old Y! messenger which does not work on vision.....

is this even possible on these phones?

From my understanding, what you propose is not possible.
If you come across some different information, please post and let us know [IMG]

I must be missing something from your question, but why can't you browse the old content using Sanyo 4900? The browser that comes with it is backwards compatible with the old web.
check out this site sendMeReminder.com, the phone version ofit is the old WML 1.0 and it opens fine on my Sanyo 4900.

BTW, there are java applets which are html browsers. You load it like any other java applet and use it. Just search some.
