    Hi,

I recently switched from the Samsung Sync to the iPhone. They told me at the AT&T store that they could not transfer my stored contacts (phone numbers) from the Sync to the iPhone, even with their machine that does the transferring.

Is there a way to get my contacts (phone numbers) from the Samsung Sunc to the iPhone?

I have PC Studio and I am a Windows PC user.

Also, is there a way to get my text messages from my Samsung Sync to my computer?

    Thanks.
    Ramp.

In this situation the best way is to synch your old phone to Outlook and then synch the iPhone to outlook via iTunes.

Does the Samy have a SIM card ? That is another way.

If the Samy cannot synch to Outlook, well then use outlook to type in your contacts from your PC and then synch Outlook to the iPhone.

He doesn't have an iPhone. He's trying to get music and contacts from his old Alltel phone to the Samsung Strive, via PC.

I assumed he had the same problems as the OP. Anyhow, maybe the post with help the first poster.

There is a slight parallel, only in the difficulty of moving stuff between phones. The OP was talking about the actual Samsung Sync phone, not syncing a Samsung phone with an iPhone, though he wanted to get contacts moved from the Sync to the iPhone. Which we know can be done, but not without a little work. Texts, I believe, can't be moved over in any way.

madfinn's issue is getting stuff from his Alltel phone to his new AT&T phone, in which the limitations are because it's a lower-end Samsung phone.

AT&T did not offer him a comparable phone to the former Alltel LG Tritan he had (at least not without cost).

I am also agree with that firstly you can transfer your contact to outlook using software.Than use iTunes software to transfer outlook contact to your iPhone. There is also few apps available for backup of phone numbers. Thanks
