    Hi:

    I have a Korean model Samsung SHW-M110S that has me perplexed. It has TV/FM radio capability, but for over a year, I've not been able to activate it. This phone has the the manufacturers app for the FM receiver, it has a built-in antenna, I just can't seem to get it to activate. Could use some help on this subject.
    THANX:
    Rick

    Hi Rick. I performed a search for the model along with "FM radio." I kind of got a chuckle. The only thing I found were your posts in other threads dating back as far as 2014. I noted no one even attempted an answer in those threads. It is (in phone-life) years, an older model so you likely will not find any interest on that, especially from those in these forums. Sorry. I noted that you asked about this phone once before and I provided you feedback at that time.

    The FM antenna is not built into the phone. You have to plug an headset into the phone and the phone uses the wire from the headset as the antenna.

    I know that some countries block the FM radio on phone. I know China does, but I have no idea if Korea does.

    If the FM chip in the phone has been activated, try downloading the NextRadio app. When you open the app, it will tell you if the chip is not activated.

    Come to think of it, I don't know if NextRadio will install on Gingerbread or earlier Android OSs.

    Afternoon palandri:

    Hard as it may be for you to grasp, there IS most definitely a built-in extenable antenna on this particular phone (shw-m110s) that is for FM/TV reception. Help me out IF you can: I've found this model needs a widget called simply "Galaxy S radio widget". It seems this widget is defunct(?). Would you know of/be able to recommend a comparable widget available for this phone?

    Thanx for responding. I'm pretty certain the chip is not activated. I've done a lot of research and have come to the conclusion this phone needs a widget called simply "Galaxy S radio widget". However, it seems that widget is defunct(?). Could you recommend a comparable widget for this particular phone? [GalaxyS- shw-m110s- Andriod FroYo 2,2]

    Hey Kevin:

    My apologies for not getting back to you earlier. Yes, I'm sure it could be "amusing" as this is a 5 y/o phone...and of foreign make(Korean). However, I've found it to be a "good" phone and plan on keeping it. I think I've found the answer to my question...sort of! This phone requires a widget called simply "Galaxy S radio widget". Much to my dismay, it seems this widget is defunct(?). So, my next inquiry is: do you know of a widget that is comparable, compatible with this particular phone? I see the app is no longer available from Google Play, but if you do a search of "Galaxy S radio widget" from your phone's browser, there seems to be a few other download sources displayed. You could do the download directly to your phone, and then install it. You would need to go to your phone's settings and check the box to "allow installation of apps from outside sources".

    In re: to all who've responded;

    I've found and D/l installed the latest version of "gaxaly-s-radio-widget". However, it reports "FM Radio is not turned on". So, almost back to square 1. I've been all over the web and posted in many forums, to no avail. So, is there anyone who is familiar with the first gen Galaxy S's? Perhaps I may need to beg the services of a tech or someone tech savvy to help with this phone. Does anyone know of such a person or "site" that could help out? DETAILS: Samsung first gen Galaxy S model shw-m110s---Froyo 2.2. I feel the answer lies in the phone hardware and not the O.S, but then, that's just my opinion. So, I'd appreciate anyone who has the knowledge of this phone to offer up their suggestions/advice...if their so willing?
    Thank You and Stay Sharp
    Rick
