I've got an A900 that is five weeks old. I have successfully applied the ZB12 update with no problems. Then last week I began to intermittently loose most of the top bar (signal strength, ringer state, GPS) with only the battery indicator left. When this happens, the power saving features are overridden (secondary display no longer dims and turns off). The phone seems to work OK, but the lack of power saving means that the battery drains faster. The only way to fix it seems to be power cycling the phone. Is anyone else experiencing this and any ideas about what is causing it. I have not changed any settings that would explain it. Thanks.
I have been having problem's with my A900 also.. Screen freezes and have to power it down or remove battery to restart.. Anyone else having problems with it?... only had it for a few weeks...
I have not had this happen to my A900. I would take it into a Sprint store and explain the problem. They will probably give you a refurb. if they think there is a problem (which it sounds like there is). Good luck and welcome to WA ccozier.
Welcome to WA Missthang317nc. I also have not had this problem. While my A900 has froze when I was listening to music via Sirius on it, it only did so for about a second. Other than that, I am happy with it (except the battery life...it is average). Again, I would take it into a Sprint store and explain the situation. I think the deal (at least at Verizon), was that you can get a brand new phone if it is less than 30 days (usually 15, but you have to get the manager to put his approval on it if it is less than 30 days, but over 15). Good luck.
ccozier, I recently bought two A900s, one for myself and another for my wife. My wifes phone started displaying the exact problems you describe, most notibly the displays stay on even when the phone is closed. Another symptom is on the verticle menus, it's "laggy" and sometimes sticks between items. We took her phone back and we got another A900 and the new one is starting to display the same problem. All the while, my phone is working fine. The only difference between the way my wife uses hers and I use mine is: 1. I use bluetooth, she does not 2. She sets a lot of alarms on the phone, I usually do not 3. She carries hers with a plastic phone clip made for the A900 (bought at RadioShack), I carry mine in my pocket I'm starting to wonder if the phone clip is putting stress on the internal circuit boards.
I have fixed the problem with my phone without having to contact sprint at all.. The update that sprint does on you phone every now and then... dont update.... it was causing all the problems i was having. Now that i have reset my phone and dont update it i havent had any problems with it..... The phone clip has nothing to do with it....
Actually, something my wife discovered is the problem with the A900 seems to be exacerbated by heat. When you charge the phone, it gets a little warm, but she was charging the phone with the clip attached and the phone was getting HOT. Other situations where the phone was getting hot also seem to be causing the issue to appear... You mentioned that you reset the phone, how did you accomplish this?
My phone freeze, loses signal, turns off, and in general.. sucks since i updated the phone. battery dies a lot faster than before. and overall has gone down hill from the sprint updates... I just went out and got the LG Fusic.. lets see how this works out. And Ive also reseted my phone.. but.. all the problems are still there.
Hey all, I'm nee to the forum, so pleaseexcuse me if I'm double posting. I noticed you were mentioning problems that you're all having with your A900. I just got the A900 last week (I'm with Bell, I'm not sure if that makes any difference) and my battery life is terrible. I'm not using bluetooth, mp3 player or camera and in 5 days I only have 5 hours of use and my battery doesn't even last me a full day. Anyone else having battery problems or is mine just a dud?
Hi everyone, I just bought an A900 today as an upgrade phone. In the User Guide that came with the phone there was a slip that said to transfer media files to my phone I had to download the drivers at http://www.samsungwireless.com/a900download but when I went to the site I got a "Bad Request" error page. I tried going directly to Samsung's website and using their download center. I couldn't find anything in the USA part of their website, so I searched in the global downloads and found an A900 driver program which I downloaded but apparently it's in Japanese or Korean. I'm running XP Home SP2, by the way. Is there some other place I can find the .zip file with the drivers? Or should I just pray that this is a temporary fluke on Samsung's website?
zednom i too have poor battery problems but i have changed my settings to "POWER SAVE" seems to be better liseb: if the websites still down i can send u the driver..
i have just changed the GPS setting on my phone to off. (i heard this will help keep the battery alive longer http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/user_reviews.php?phone=824&s=h&p=2) now... does anyone know if this will affect my SERVICE FOR CALLS? i do not care to as internet or anything else please help

Thanks aznglow! Now if only I could manipulate it to use uploaded mp3s (that I have on my computer and load into the phone) as ringtones. . .

aznglow: Please excuse me while i grovel at your feet for finding this. *bows to the ground* I am not worthy!
When I go to http://rapidshare.de/files/32804292/SPH-A900.zip and upload/download the program for free once done with that part it asks for a registration number. I don't have one. It's so frustrating to want this to work and it doesn't
