Quick science lesson. EV-DO data speeds drop with distance. Sprint uses 1900MHz while Verizon uses 800MHz. 1900MHz needs more towers to cover an given area. That is why Sprint has been tested at having faster network speeds for both of their network technologys. Take into effect that Sprint offers more EV-DO related content then Verizon. This gives Sprint an advantage in this area. Like other people here have mentioned, Sprint also has better prices for their EV-DO plan options.
This phone along with all of their current and future phones gives sprint the advantage overall against Verizon. I do not own this phone, but I do own the Sanyo MM 9000, which is a great phone.

I believe I finally have found a worthy replacement for my Sanyo SCP-5300! Now I gotta hot-foot it down to the Sprint store this morning to see if they have one for me to snag. The sprint online store still doesn't show the phone as available.

I also called the sprint shop-by-phone store just now -- the dude didn't even know about this phone. He had to look around a whole lot and finally found info on it. He said it showed that the phone was released yesterday, but he couldn't order it through inventory.

I called the sprint (brick & mortar) store this morning, and they don't know about the new phones. So I called sprint phone sales again -- this time the rep knew what was going on, sort of. She told me that the news reports were premature, but that the phone should be available on the website tomorrow.

She also said that they have gotten tons of calls about the a900 over the last two weeks. In addition, she said she didn't know what the price will be.

It better not be more than the $349 mentioned in the news releases!!!

Hey, I can tell you first hand that the supply of this phone is very limited. I was very lucky to pick mine up. And by the way, the price is what was listed.

$349 without a contract, $199 with a 2 year.I have beenusing mine for about a week and this is the first phone from Sprint that has ever actually impressed me. Hit phonescoop and there are a few reviews on it and a mini review I posted in the Sprint forum there before it was released. Everything is good with the phone except for battery life, a T9 glitch and a badly designed charging port cover but those aren't that big of a deal.

    Yeah.

But wouldn't that be copying how the keypad on the Razr is designed? ;)

Too bad Sprint sucks in my neighborhood. If it didn't, then I would probably get this phone and sign up for the Power Vision (since Sprint is the only carrier with high-speed data in my city). Oh well. :(

Cool. If Sprint had better coverage in my neighborhood (which they still don't :(), I would most likely switch over to them in a minute (since PV is in my city too). ;)

The Kyocera KE424C & KX424 were also nicknamed, Blade and Motorola's ultra-thin phone is the RAZR. Blade/RAZR, RAZR/Blade... I wonder why Samsung chose to be so unoriginal? They coulld have named it after some other, ultra-thin thing... like The Samsung SCH-a900 AKA Lara Flynn Boyle.:lmao:

I've seen different specs on maximum amount of numbers the phone can store.
Does anyone know for sure the maximum number of contacts that can be stored?
Also, what is the maximun number of phone numbers that can be stored?
How many numbers can be stored for each contact?

500 total, I did not specifically check if multiple entries under one name counts as more than one munber. Oh, and just in case you were interested, 99 speed dial locations.

We just got in a larger shipment of the 900 and its on the planagram now so I'm assuming that sprint stores shouldnt be so limited on the blade/edge now... Its a great phone. I love it, only its too thin for me, I like the wide screen though and features are awesome!

Me too. It would just look too weird now with me having a huge phone sticking out of my pocket. But some times, I have to reach in my pocket just to make sure that my phone is stil there. ;)

Still searching if anyone positively knows the absolute number of contacts that the blade can store and the absolute number of phone numbers. What is the number of numbers that can be stored for a single contact as well?
I use my phone for business and I have pretty extensive needs on this front. The phone looks great.
