I'm up in Maine and my phone is saying "Digital Roaming" and flashes to "Exteneded Network" and back and forth every so often.

So what is it? When i try to get my #MIN, it says its a US Cellular network. is that a VZW roaming partner?

Am i gonna get f*CKed up the *** on my next billl?

With Verizon, if your phone says Extended Network or the roaming indicator is flashing you should not have roaming charges. If your roaming indicator is solid you might.

Be sure to dial *228 send and choose option 2 once a month. This will update the PRL or roaming list on your phone. You should do this when your phone says Verizon Wireless on the screen not extended network.

You don't necessarily need to do a PRL update once a month. If you monitor this board or HowardForums, you'll see when the new PRLs are available, and you'll know when to update.

Extended Network is included in your AC plan for free, and yes, USCC one of Verizon's many roaming partners.
You should not have any problems on your next months bill.

ha. ive been using VZW. =p

So yea. i thought it was prolly ok, so i went ahead and used it anyhow. I just wanted to be sure it's not my phone being screwy... just got the v710, awsome phone btw. =D

    anyhow from VZW themselves:
"Thank you for contacting Verizon Wireless through our website. I have received your
inquiry regarding the coverage area for the wireless account and your roaming signal
and I am happy to assist you.

When your phone's roaming indicator is off and/or the banner display reads "Verizon
Wireless Network," America's Choice home airtime rates apply, and National IN
Calling is available. Digital features and services are available only when your
    digital indicator is on.

When the roaming indicator is flashing and/or the banner display reads "Extended
Network," America's Choice home airtime rates still apply. However, National IN
Calling and some other features and services may not be available.

When the roaming indicator is solid and/or the banner display reads "Roaming,"
roaming is unavailable and calls may not be sent or received."
