I'm new to this forum so here's my first hello! As such, I have a few questions that I hope you guys can answer! I've been an Alltel subscriber for almost 10 years, and love them. This week I recently traded in my ANCIENT Motorola T720 for the new E815. The hinges on the T720 broke one day and the phone came apart! As luck would have it, my contract was up and I got the e815. I love this new phone! No analog, but doesn't seem to be an issue. Now on to the questions! 1. I had purchased two games for my old T720 through Axxess Apps. At the Alltel store, they said I could get a credit from Alltel and re-download to my new phone. I call Alltel CS, and they said they don't do that. My question is, don't I own the game? I paid for the unlimited usage. How come I can't get them on another phone. I can put CD's into multiple player's for example. 2. Alltel isn't compatible with most of the ringtone services out there. Why is that? The sites that have what I want I can't use! :-( 3. If I buy the data transfer kit for the e815 (or use the memory card to transfer) what can I transfer? Just messages, or can I transfer wallpapers, ringtones, mp3's, etc.? 4. If I have my own CD's/Mp3's, can I somehow get these to the phone to use as ringtones (or to play using the media functions)? Thanks in advance!!! Tyler
1. You do own the right to use the game and it is on your t720. For changing a phone that is not a warranty issue within 90 days of thh purchase of the application, we will not credit. Sorry. We are not required to credit any of them since the Apps are owned by a 3rd party and we lose money everytime we credit them but we do offer the 90 day coursey if the phone dies. 2. There are some 3rd party sites that seem to work fine with alltel. anything that m-qube has will work for sure. 3. The data kit comes only with software to connect your computer to the internet using the phone and a phone book transfer tool. you can transfer other things but you will need to find your own software to do this. 4. yes you can, just find the software and happy tone loading!
I hope I don't get in trouble for saying this... BUT you can load ringtones, etc. to your Alltel phone. However, you must have special software -- and it's best to use an SD card to store them. I have an Alltel V710 -- with 50 or so songs (ripped to MP3) from my personal CD collection. I also downloaded and stored ringtones on the phone. Didn't need Axcess or any 3rd party Brew software downloaded on the phone -- just software found on the Internet and the cable offered by Motorola. [Can't be more specific until I know the rules of the forums.]
Or you can use Bluetooth and not have to have any special software, just drop your music into the requisite folder and go
What is the cable I should buy? And what kind of software am I looking for (at current, I'm not even sure what keywords to search for). It should be okay to discuss, because unlike Verizon, Alltel does NOT require that you access the phone only through a Vcast-like setup. Thanks for your help!
Motorola mobile phone tools 4.0 will work good for you and the cable should come with it. Hope this helps.
My computer doesn't have a bluetooth reciever with it though. If I were to get one, what software would I need in order to interact with the phone correctly?
