Can somebody please tell me if Alltel has ringback tones. If yes how do i go about signing up for them.
I don't think they do and I thank God everyday that Alltel does not provide this as a feature
Funny that you asked. It was leaked today that ringback tones will be available beginning in February. Personally, I'd rather shove a hot fork up my rear end than have to listen to ringback tones, but to each his own, I guess.... Here are the details as announced on another site I cannot name here (HINT: AWT....WK is the man!): • Axcess Ringback Tones service is available for a $0.99 monthly recurring charge plus a $1.99 charge per song title per year. • Axcess Ringback Tones is available on all handsets, thus every Alltel Customer can subscribe to this service. • Axcess Ringback Tones Customers can save up to 15 different Ringback tones to the Alltel server. • Axcess Ringback Tones Customers can modify their profile to assign different Ringback Tones to specific callers or groups of callers. Direct the Customer to the RingBack Tones Axcess Shops or to www.alltel.com/buytones Customers can also Self-subscribe to Ringback Tones by: • Activating via Axcess Shops • Activating via SMS • Activating via www.alltel.com/buytones Due out February 19th, 2007
Livspop beat me to it...seems we have the same unnamed source Yeah, this starts in Feb...don't see the appeal of it but whatever floats your boat!
I went to Alltel yesterday and they hook my ringback tone service up. But the only problem is how to download the music!!!!
goto www.alltel.com/buytones Make sure and select the tab for ringbacks and are searching by ringbacks. It is pretty straight forward on that site.
If you want to get the ringback tones that alltel now offers I'd wait a little bit. I went online to set up my service yesterday and it still is not working on my phone. I called tech support at alltel and they told me that they knew it was an issue and there was already a ticket open. Seems like everything new that alltel comes out with it doesn't work at first... including their phones.

The pricing is in line with VZW and Cingular as well: $0.99/month and $1.99/tone. I think that TMobile charges $1.49/month and MetroPCS charges $1.75/month. The down side (not really) is that you're limited to 15 tones.
