Mitsubishi is the theme... I own a millitary (flat) black 98 Eclipse GS-T with blue light detailing (gauge dials, neon underglow, led button backlight all in blue), I'm ordering the flat black bezel for my phone so could someone help me out with a skin to match things?
Skins are very tough to make. I havent had any success. However, I can get u a link to the Alltel V3C skins, Im sure they will work with the Alltel V3M. I am currently using alltel v3c skins, and there are some cool ones. I havent seen an Eclipse one however. BTW, Sweet car I used to have a 97 GST Black with tan leather. I had Tenzo black racing seats, injen intake, apex' i blow off valve, apex' i N1 downpipe and full exhaust (no cataltyic converter), Hella HID kit, 19" Konig Appeals with Yokohama Spec 2 tires. The thing was awesome, but had to sell it unfortuantely. I wanted to get rid of it before 'crankwalk' surfaced
With a 97... you might not have had problems with the CW. I had a 95 GSX that walked. IT was mainly an issue with the first shipment of 2nd gens. So mainly the 2Ga's. Mod list of mine can be found here... http://abq-dsm.com/phpbb/garage.php?mode=view_vehicle&CID=14
Former Eclipse owner here as well. 1993 non turbo 2 liter GS, 5 speed, fully loaded, factory ground effects and the good wing. Looked just like a GST/X, but wasn't. 2" drop on Eibach Sportlines, 17" Enkei RF-1's, custom mandrel bent exhaust, custom intake. At the time, I wasn't into performance, just the stereo, and the looks. It was blue, the bright Subaru style blue. Man, I miss that car. I don't miss the timing belt, just the car.
I knew I was missing a mod, haha. Yea, I used the Sportline drop on Tokico blue shocks. I had to shave the inside of the wheel wells to fit the 19's lol. Also had the 3-gauge pillar pod. I hear ya on missin the car...
I'm into looks, but more of a sports car race look. I dont want any body kits, unless Rudora or VeilSide! What I'm doing is replacing the fenders, fb, rear hatch and all interior parts with CF Parts! Real CF! Very nice... And the most bling I'm having is the CF and Lambo Doors! Until I get the CF parts, it will remain flat black. But I love matching things. I just ordered a flat black case for my RAZR that matches the car... yay!
Just as a heads up, which case did u order? A housing kit? If so, was it the v3c housing? Mind sending a link of one you found? The only reason I ask is I havent seen a true v3m housing on the market yet. Yea, I had the Buddy Club fb, Blitz sides and rear as well molded in. Somebody rear ended be just slightly and cracked all the body lines I had molded, it got to be too much upkeep... someday I will get back into it.
Do a search for RAZR OEM Housing on Ebay... http://cgi.ebay.com/Motorola-V3-Raz...QQihZ005QQcategoryZ108648QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Just so you know before you start going crazy with the disassemble, there are 3 things that will probably make this not work b/c this is a V3 housing and not a v3c housing: 1) Isnt the camera lens on the faceplate on the v3c is risen up? This case shown has a flat camera lens which I dont think will fit yours. (thats how it is for the v3m anyways) 2) If you planned on using the keypad, this is different becuase if u look above the up arrow, it has a menu key there. Your v3c should use the middle round for menu. Also, the camera buttons arent in the right place. (not sure if u planned on using this...is ur keypad black like the vzw v3m) 3) The screw holes might not line up exactly since this is for the GSM cingular V3, and not the Alltel/Verizon v3c. Just want you to not go crazy off the bat disassembling etc if u notice visually this wont work. I hope it does, but the housings have been a tricky thing to find.
I just wanted to clarify on my Eclipse a little. I was rice before rice was rice. This was a 93, and I had it hooptied up in 96. FnF wasn't even a thought yet. A magazine had just come out, called Super Street. Where I lived, no one had a car like this. It wasn't much, but it was definitely modded for the time. When I mentiond ground effects, they are the stock ones, not sure if you know what they are. No aftermarket body kit for me, they didn't even make one for that car for a number of years. I had the single angled wiper with the 24" blade on there. That was cool, back then. I had a 4% tinted strip across the windshield to match the 4% tint on the windows. No one had 19's. Hardly anyone had 18's back then. 17's were huge for the time, considering the car came with 16's and OEM hubcaps. Plus sizing your wheels was pretty much unheard of for a car in 96. Trucks, yes, cars, not so much. I will try to find a picture and upload it.
Heavy, nobody was knocking Hope you werent taking it that way. Yea, I had gotten into modding a few months before fnf came out. I started with a 90 Integra with 18's, full kit. The only reason I went overboard with my eclipse was I was managing a performance store based out of a mall believe it or not, haha. It was called Drivin' Style, we had 6...3 in MA, 3 in NH. Needless to say it went under, believe it or not, families shopping at the mall didnt usually walk out with front bumpers and wheels, haha. It lasted for a couple yrs tho, more than I expected when I started haha.
I like the old original ricers... There is like 1 car in NM that is ... well was original. It is a Civic Del Sol. It was Civic Green with a Street Fighter Body Kit and these 5 spoke (split to make it 10 spoke) chrome wheels and a ricer wing... now he's redone it to a bad ___ purple and new headlights and tail lights and wheels... My 95gsx's only rice was a pair of 17inch Motegi MR7 wheels... hehe...
Ja, did u see the above concerns I listed about the V3 housing a few posts up? I hear ya on the Motegi MR-7. I had them in white on my teg, what a bastard to keep clean, haha.
yay tuners with razrs! Now if we could only use the razr as a ECU programmer like they did with the Gameboy Advance! My 300k+ Mile 93' Si
Well, I can confirm that the Alltel v3c skins DO work for the Alltel v3m! I will release how to when I get back from vaca. Alltel v3m users are about to get some nice info
Thats what I'm about to buy if I dont get my car back. It was confiscated by local pd because it turned out I bought it from someone that stole the car from someone else. Even tho I've had the car for a year now... dunno how it can just end up reported stolen after all this time, but after 5 hours in custody last night and another hour of watching my car be towed away (it was kinda difficult since the car is lowered, to get onto the tow truck) my life has just took a nasty turn and now I have no car and someone I know has a 92 White Si Hatch with low miles that is going to let me make payments on it. So yay for that... but boo hiss from going from my sexy lil dsm back to a starter car, honda!
Just follow the directions from the original flash wiki: http://wiki.howardforums.com/index....l_User_Interface#Get_a_custom_look_with_Skins Just read, and re-read EVERY step. Let me know if u have questions. This is especially key:
It seems easy enough. I'll try it sometimes soon, but probably not until this Lakers game is over. I noticed there's a skins folder in the transflash card, though. Can I really use that for anything? I mean, I guess it wouldn't hurt to try, but it doesn't seem like it would do anything. Edit: Woot, the Lakers won and ended the Mavericks' 13 game streak. I guess I'd have to actually install skins into that skin folder on my transflash card, but there's really no reason to if I'm only putting one on there anyway. On that darklodge site... there are files called "install_[skin].p2kc", where [skin] is the name of the skin, obviously. These look like they'll just open up p2kcommander or something, and the name makes it seem like it'll install it for me? Probably not, though.
Yea, I see that folder on the tf card, but dont think it will work. Just use the skins folder on the phone. As for the skins from darklodge, i use the auto install ("install_[skin].p2kc") when it is available. But its good to know how to manually install them as well. That wiki has all the explanations, so if u are confused, keep studying it
