Release Date for V60p

Ok guys and gals I just got off the phone with my Cousins husband who works in Corporate Verizon. I asked him about PTT and heres what he DID tell me. He was VERY tight liped and was very skeptical to give me much info but here is what he gave me. Keep in mind things change almost on a daily basis over there:

1. PTT WILL BE a Nationwide Launch in all Digital Areas with 1rxtt tech.

2. A *TENTATIVE* price plan for PTT would be to add Unlimited PTT to any Americas Choice or National Single Rate Plan for $20.00. Thats all he would tell me.

3. The Motorola V60P and the samsung are the *TENTATIVE* PTT phones that will be Launced first. He also said that LG is trying to make a PTT talk phone, but that he was unsure, cuz he overheard someone talking about it.

4. The *TENTATIVE* launch for PTT is the NOT July 1st, rather the first or second week of July, if everything works out.

5. A cool feature he told me about Verizons PTT is that you will be able to go into your phone book and tell who is on the PTT network. He said some sort of icon will appear next to the pesons name letting you know if you can PTT them or not.

5. The likely reason that Gony.com had to take off all the VERIZON PTT from thier web site was legal reasons. Verizon prolly sicked thier lawyers on em.

Thats it! Remember now, this is all Tentative stuff, he said Verzion is SO tight liped about this that they change things almost on a Daily basis that way no one realy knows much. But he also said this is what its looking like for the release.

No Problem Tadlock and everyone else! Iam calling him again the first week of July for an Update, so Ill keep yall up to date, just incase PTT does not roll out when its suppose to!

Tadlock, I didn't go bald or anything, I just kept my head shaved for a while, so it grew back on it's own.

I called one of my good VZW reps and he told me he is going to training on PTT on July 1st. Therefore he is thinking the release will be the following week or late that week. My rep is located in South Jersey. If anyone has any other info regarding PTT please do tell as I am getting so anxious just to hold and own the V60p.

Can someone tell me why no one from Motorola is giving up any information on this phone? Do they truly not know about the V60p or what? I called on two different occasions to no avail. 1-866-Buy-Moto....

 

They know about it, it's just top secret, since technically no one is supposed to know VZ is launching a PTT service.

I read somewhere that the V60p will have a stub antenna instead of a pull-up. The poster that said this seemed to think this would affect the reception. Your thoughts? Also, what about the V60x? What's different between it and the p?

 

Yes it will have a stub antenna, but apparently motorola has a way to make this work on CDMA now. Several of their newer CDMA phones use stub antennas. The v60x stuff has been posted a million times on here, and I'm tired and don't feel like rehashing it. You can find out about it by using the search function.

 

Yes, my v120e has a stub antenna and it holds the same, if not better reception as my v120c's retractable. THE V60P RULES!

As I am sure you all have noticed Dv8 has started another thread stating that the release date of the v60p was already pushed back. Bummer! lets hope they can fix the problem quickly and release it relatively soon (ie. weeks instead of months!)

yeah well I figured hoping for days instead of weeks was just being too optimistic. I mean I would love it if it were just days...but I think I would just be in denial of the truth if i actually thought that.

 

I would say DAYS! Lets keep the faith in the largest wireless compnay in America!!!

 

You guys really are way to optimistic. I'm telling you, this is only the begining of the "hold ups".

 

Yeah, I know. I'm looking to see when the v60p will come out, because, I really want one, but, if its going to be months, or months+weeks, I'm going to find a relatively new v60i on Ebay and wait it out . Ceno, you think that's an "okay" decision, seeing as how I'm tired of my v120e?
