O.K. I'm going to ignore the fact that you don't have a toilet-trained mouth and that you like to potty where everyone can read it. This was a simple, non-personal discussion, that with the introduction of YOUR sarcasm, degenerated significantly. Whatever you have to say that might be of any technical or intellectual value cannot be appreciated because of the vulgarity that comes with it.

If I managed to offend you in the first post I put up on this thread, then I apologize, but the "if you haven't noticed" comment was unnecessary and irked me. I'm not an idiot and won't be treated like one. Despite that, I took the time out and answered all your technical questions. It is unfortunate that you couldn't get anything out of it.

Nevertheless, your questions have been answered, and this thread doesn't have to go through any more "degeneration".

It seems like to take the effort to answer your questions is a complete waste of time for you and for me, so I won't do so anymore. Perhaps another senior member will have the patience to answer your questions since mine were so inadequate.

Even in trying to sound conciliatory, you cannot resist the urge to insult. If the questions asked were beneath your intellectual plateau, no response at all would have been greatly appreciated.

FYI – My postings on this subject were not intended to be taken so seriously that they would warrant profanity. If I had known that the questions would be viewed that seriously, I would never have posted them. We are talking about toys here not each other’s parents.

Judging by the way Ceno IMs me every day all giddy like a little girl about the v60p, I'm guessing we're real close.

Does anyone know (specifically Ceno or Cop) if you can disable PTT? It's a cool feature, but could be very annoying if someone is paging you repeatedly while you're trying to do something else.

I believe the V60P has a Do No Disturb type feature.

Yello, please don't ever think of me as "giddy like a little girl". That disturbs me. And yes, the v60p does have some sort of "do not disturb" feature.

Frazzled, I believe your questions have been answered several times by Yello and myself, you do not need to keep asking them. You need to digest the information we have given you.

I scoff at your hillbilly story.

My favorite is this - when my mom tries to pronounce Verizon, it goes something like this:

    "Very...vely...veery...<curses in Chinese>...Bell Atlantic"

How thick is you skull man? Can you read?

THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE V60P IS THE PTT FEATURE. IF THIS DOESN'T INTEREST YOU, THEN PLEASE GO AWAY AND STOP ASKING WHY ITS SO GREAT! Son of a... geez...

Also, FYI, the V60 series of phones is known to have some of the best RF performance and sound quality, and some people like going with a device that is proven to work well. Since this already-proven-to-work-well line of phones now adds the PTT feature, which is the main reason people are interested in it, then the assumption is the v60p will have both good phone performance AND the new PTT feature that anyone on this thread is interested in.... If you're not, then go away.

...and FYI, Nokia phones bite on CDMA. They were dropped by Sprint PCS and Verizon because of poor performance. If you want a Nokia, then petition Nokia to make phones that don't work shabbily on the biggest cellular network in the U.S.

IF anyone would take notice, I HAVE NOT asked a question on this subject in DAYS. Most of the flack has been from those who couldn't provide a simple answer and move on, or who thought they were too good to answer the simple questions that I asked. I have moved on. Why can't you?

Hello. Let me share with you what I have found out so far. First off, yes the launch date IS July 1st, but it is launching everywhere. I WAS told from someone who is "up there" that supposedly, PTT is only suppossed to work in EXPRESS NETWORK areas. This is supposedly supposed to grow rapidly.
ALSO: New rates will launch with the phones. I am told they will include Peak, Night and Weekends, and PTT. Mobile to Mobile will be an add-on. Pricing is still a heavily guarded secret. I also have talked to people who have seen it demo'd and said it was sweet. The MOTOROLA REP doing the demo said that the system they made for VZW works "100 times better than NEXTEL". Pretyy bold statement...but it was more interesting that it came from a Motorola man...not a Verizon rep.
Another tidbit. Supposedly, the VZW PTT phones will not require a separate "code" to call people on PPT, like Nextel does. The phone number will work..as long as they also have a PTT.

I believe July 1st, you will see a advertising explosion. Evertime you turn on the radio or TV there it will be. However, I don't think it will bury Nextel just yet....What will hurt them is the fact that the public will be exposed to VErizons PTT for about 5-6 months before the congressional bill allowing number portability takes effect. Once that happens. it it truley does work better than nextel 9which i have no doubts that it will) There will be no reason for all those buisness's currently using Nextel not to switch. Better range, roaming capability, smaller phones....ouch. Nextel better come up with something quick. Simple nationide PTT isn't going to be enough.

Mole: there have been rumors that PTT will launch on the West Coast before the East, as opposed to a full national lauch (minus the areas that are not 1xRTT enabled) Have you heard any info on this?

From what the higher gods in VZW told me, PTT will be released in San Francisco Bay area first before it hits anywhere else, mainly because SF is the pilot area for PTT as of this date and will expand as demand asks for it.

Thanks Cop, I think I was actually quoting you on the East Coast West Coast difference. I just wanted to make sure I could PTT Ceno from NYC while doing an autopsy and he's having breakfast.

im reasonable sure this is going to be a national launch.
as i listed previously, the v60p will go for 199 2yr with a 50 mail in rebate to bring it to 149.99.

no share plans on the new PTT plans!
and mobile to mobile will not be a add on feature, it will include whatever promo is available at that time, ie. if the promo is 1k MTM mins and Ulimited N&W then that is what it will be. BUT there will be different plan pricing.

all I can share untill more word gets spread.

since the v60p will be for verizon service, will you be able to talk via walkie talkie (ptt) to people with nextel phones or will you only be able to talk to other verizon customers w/ the same phone???? also, will you have a different # for the ptt the same way nextel has it??? if so, will you have to pay extra for the ptt service???

Nextel and Verizon run on totally different networks and technology so, no.
apparently not, you will be able to communicate with other VZW users via PTT as long as the other end is PTT, else, regular voice calls.
Yes, the plan I know about is the 300 PTT minutes for $10 attached to any existing plan.

Cop: I looked at the Demo of it at gonycom.com, and it said 1 number serves everything. That's awesome for the $10 deal! [IMG]
