Right on. I was just wondering why you said that stuff before, not that you need links, just what you think he should have done and why he is stupid for his economic policy. I my opinion, G.W. has focused on the economy and the military to the exclusion of other things. Yeah, he's more of an everyday person than most people like, but that really speaks to some people. He has said some dumb things, but I'm sure you haven't said anything stupid before, let alone in public. I know I've messed up a word or two in public. I can't imagine what would happen if a teleprompter were involved. That doesn't make me stupid--not that alone at least.
Funny, I was unaware the economy was getting better. What was the figure released a few days ago...the number of new jobs created in Nov (or Dec) was the lowest in 13 years or something. Sounds like a great economy to me. It's only getting better for those that weren't suffering to begin with. Sincerely, AnthroMatt (still unemployed after 15 months)
I don't know what he's all about just yet, but right now I am interested in General Wesley Clark (Ret). That Dean guy thats so popular...(Granted I don't know what any of these guys are about yet)...he and his thumbs-up faces and poses seems like a politician "trying" to be popular. I will say this about George W...he may be reckless and a little slow but he isn't afraid to kick some flagennooben we it needs to be kicked. I just don't like the "OK...we just conqured one enemy...whosnextwhosnextwhosnext!!" War is expensive. He shoulda focused on finding Osama before running off to settle the family score. Now we have to pay to rebuild their stupid country instead of fixing our own. It could be worse I guess....Hopefully no movie stars, Wrestlers, or porn stars run for president. Can you imagine? President "Stone Cold" Steve Austin!! "For our nations sake, I hope and pray that Bush does not get re-elected." .....For once ILUVSOCAL and I are in total agreement! FUN WITH GEORGE W BUSH!! Click here for the infamous "Dancing Bush"
LOL. I'm sure I have a few too. I agree with the space idea. Why not go back in space? Not EVERY dollar has to go towards a social cause. Think of the national pride. It's okay for America to be #1 again. When I was speaking about the economy, I speaking with broad brush strokes. Economic factors include employment, but are not exclusively based on employment. Growth leads to more jobs, which is why jobs are a trailing indicator. Economists expect umemployment to go from 5.9% to 5.5% in the next year, which obviously means more jobs, not just disgruntled workers not filing for unemployment. GOP rhetoric, but at least it mentions the USA Today poll of economists. The unemployment rate is very different in the health care field from those in the tech labor market. We all know where the tech labor market is right now. If that is the market you are still looking at, good luck. It's a barren job market. The bubble burst and it keeps the liquidators busy. Liquidator: 6,500 tech firms among 'walking dead' On another unrelated note, how 'bout those Hawkeyes!
Lower unemployment does not necessarily mean more jobs! I am no longer considered unemployed. My unemployment benefits ran out about 10 months ago and as of last September I gave up looking for work and went back to school (again). So now that I am not actively looking for a job I am not unemployed according to how the government calculates the unemployment rate. I am not alone in the group of "permanently" unemployed either. That is why unemployment and jobless claims can fall (which they just did) without virtually any new jobs being created (which just happened). Everytime I see the mailing tube that contains my masters degree I don't know whether to laugh, cry, or throw it into the fireplace.
I just have to say that you all have no idea what a rare thing you've witnessed in this thread. ILUV, who is LDS, is a dem. That is next to unheard of. If you need proof of that, go lookup the state legislatures in ID and UT.
I dated a Mormon in high school. She was fairly moderate politically, but for a Mormon, incredibly liberal.
