I am not sure how this is happening or why... I randomly get my text messages sent to my email inbox instead of my phone. Sometime it won't happen for a few days, then some days it will do it a whole bunch of times, BUT it only happens with one particular person who is also a verizon user. I'm not sure if it is settings on his phone, or mine, or with one or both of our accounts, but does anyone know how to make this stop? we both use verizon wireless online, and the email address it says it comes from is his login name at vzwtext dot com, not from his phone number. ?????
If you are getting sms from alias@vtext.com, it means that someone is either sending you sms from the vtext site or they are sending a sms from their phone to you at youralias@vtext.com or yourphone#@vtext.com...
its from from phone to phone and phone# to phone# just like a normal text - no computer or email addresses involved. he isn't sending these any different from any other text he sends me. it just so happens that it goes to my email for whatever reason.
Does this happen with him sending SMS to other Verizon customers? and you don't have a problem with recieving SMS from others from Verizon or any other carrier right?
we don't know if it is happening to anyone else he texts, but it could be. it doesn't happen to me when anyone else at all texts me, just him. i haven't had any other problems with anyone elses texts or any other carriers.
I would have him try sending other texts to other Verizon customers he knows & see if that is happening with them. This will rule out any possible issue with his account on the Verizon network if it doesn't happen to anyone else. Also do you keep your in folder full a lot? maybe if it can't get delivered because your inbox is full it sends them to your email. Other then that as Quint stated he maybe accidently selecting your email address to send it to you.
he doesn't have my email in his phone so that can't be it, and i could say for him to test other verizon users but it is so random - it won't do it for a week and then all of a sudden do it for a whole day long. the only thing i can think of is it might be if my inbox is full sometimes... is there anyway for it to auto delete the messages at the bottom of the box?
Wirelessly posted (Palm750/v0000 Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 4.01; Windows CE; PPC; 240x320) UP.Link/6.3.0.0.0) From the messaging screen, go to settings (left soft button) and choose auto erase - on. The read messages will then be automatically deleted when the storage limit is exceeded. I don't quite know if it is this way on the 8600 but typically this is how it is set up on that series of LGs. Hope it helps
so i tested the inbox full theory over the weekend. i kept my inbox less than half full and it still did it... once on saturday and three times on sunday. i can't figure this out and it is really annoying! i will try to put on the auto erase feature, which i had previously thought would auto erase them right after theyhad been read (not saving any messages), which is why i didn't turn it on before. we will see. thanks for all your help.
Sorry, I had missed reading this. In that case the problem has to be at his end I would think. It is supposed to delete from the bottom of the inbox and that too only if the inbox is full, hope that is the case.
I agree with Charlyee, the problem is on the senders end if your still having this problem with the inbox not full. Being this is only happening with his SMS and no one elses he should call CS to see if they have a way to reset his SMS account.
