RAZR V3M will connect with cable, but not with Bluetooth?

    Greets all,

I just purchased my V3M 3 days ago. I also have Motorola Phone Tools v4.5, and am running WinXP SP2.

After much trial and error, I can get the V3M to initialize and connect fine using the USB data link cable. I can up/download media, pics, ringtones etc.

However, when using my Kensignton USB Bluetooth adapter, MPT goes into something of an endless loop initializing phase, with the message, "Initializing... Please Wait..." scrolling forever. The phone and the computer are definitely paired, because I can get audio links, etc. The 'Motorola USB Modem' does show up in device manager.

Here's what I find strange. When I launch MPT (using Bluetooth) you are of course prompted to create a profile. Well I've been creating new profiles each time around so I can try selecting different phones from the list (i.e. V3m, V3c, V3cm, etc.) When I choose certain phones from the list and hit 'next,' MPT will go through its thing and repond with the whole "Congratulations, phone is successfully installed" bit. For a few brief moments, MPT will cause the phone to make a series of beeps, as if it really is trying to initialize. Obviously there is some kind of link going on there. But like I said, it just stays in this 'initializing' phase forever.

Anyone have any idea what might be going on? Remember, I can connect through the USB cable just fine, just not Bluetooth. Thanks.

    Rob

By the way, my V3m is not from Verizon, (rather, Metro PCS, which is popular in FL) and both seems are as they should be in the "seems edit" post.

sounds like you may need to update the BT adapter drivers.

Right now I'm using the drivers that came with the Kensington. Should I be using different drivers, and if so where would I get them? Thanks

Can't say myself, I'd try going to the mfg site and see if they have a newer set released. Or go to the support forum for MPT and see if anyone else is having the same issue with that style BT device.
