    I have a question about my phone and I need help. I want to make a ring tone and put it on my Razr but when ever I load a mp3 file it goes to my music and I can't set it as my ringtone. What should I do?

    What program are you using to move the ring tone to the phone with?

    FYI ringtones need to be in the /motorola/shared/audio folder. If it is going to the my_music folder that is why you are having no lucky currently.

    I'm using Audacity. I can make the ring tones but they end up in the my Music file. How do I get it to the other file?

    That answer the question why they are not showing up. You can't use WMP to transfer the ring tones in mp3 format. Once you use WMP to sync with your phone it will convert the songs to *.wma's and as you can see puts them in the wrong place.

    To put actual mp3 ring tones on the phone you either need to get a copy of MPT ( ie Mototrola phone tools) or you can use p2kcommander to do so. Just keep in mind that to use p2kcommander tho you need to have MSU or PST setup and running first in the back round to suspend the phone correctly so p2kcommander can write to the phone.

    I don't want to buy motorola tools and p2kcommander didn't work. Is there a better program that will work for vista?

    Oh boy, being you have Vista that is a problem.Most of this stuff does not want to function right with Vista. That's one reason I refuse to upgrade myself personally, plus with owning 5 comps that would be a bit pricey atm.

    What was you issue with p2kcommander? no reason that shouldn't work. Did you have MSU or PST up and running prior to trying to use p2kcommander?

    MSU = Motorola Software updater

    PST = PST Phone programmer, keep in mind PST is warez software so it's copyrighted and can be a bit of a pain to find but you can find it if you google for it.

    MSU you on the other hand you can get very easily and it's not warez. If will do the same thing for you tho for being able to use p2kcommander. Here's a direct link to a page for getting a copy of MSU

    Don't know I'd say good, you either know how to or not in all honesty. Once you get the feel of how to do it and you have the correct seem info it's simple to do. The key is to always make a backup of the seem before you edit the file on your phone, and also to make sure the seem info you are going to change is specifically for the phone you have. To many folks get the idea of Razr edit, but there are different types of Razr and not all seem edits are interchangeable.

    Oh yea chk you PM.
