I have some weird behavior on my transflash card. I have tried this several times, formatting and adding songs back, but the same thing keeps happening. I fill the card around 60% and the phone won't let me add anymore songs onto it. It shows the transflash card as having around 39% free space.

I'm using MPT, not WMP10, because I have WMP11 and the roll back didn't work and Microsoft didn't know what to do, so synching through WMP10 is not an option.

When I get to around 60%, MPT freezes, my phone disconnects from the computer (I hear that noise), and I have to plug it in again and restart MPT. I've tried it with different songs, so that isn't the issue.

I am using lowercase, underscores, no special characters, and I'm keeping it under 33 characters (including extension).

Ironically, I can still add pictures and video to the transflash, just not wma files.

    Anyone have suggestions?

I'm having the exact same problem with my v3mM (seem edit). Yes, i did format the card both on the phone and with my computer (fat32), and yes, the card CAN hold more than that when it's read by my computer. Also, "Manage Music" will not load, nor will the phone allow a sync with WMP11. It works fine playing back and loading music up until a certain amount of memory is used (about 50% for me). 1 have a 1GB Kingston MicroSD card. Something odd is afoot...

I have heard of this problem with Kingston cards quite a bit...makes me think it is the card rather than the phone. Im not great with flash memory procedures/terms, etc, so i dont know for sure. I hope they are better than some of the reviews as I just bought (3) 1gb ($10.95 ea) shipped. I just pop them into the adapter, and use them as an SD card for my digi camera.

I have a ScanDisk 1gb microSD card and have the same problem with the V3mm (seem edit), I can get around the same amount on my card 50% to 60%, anything over that, the phone locks up while reading the songs. This happens on both my music and manage music. I have no problem putting 1gb worth of songs on the card, and it does not matter how I put the songs on the card, copy directly from the computer or sync using mp10. I called moto and all I could get from them was a recommendation of <10mg for a song and a never ending wait.. The card is fine using the computer, I can read and write the whole 1gb. I’m going to flash it with the latest moto code and software maybe that will help, or maybe turn it into a brick, in which case I really won't have to worry about it any more. I’ll let you know.

Try formatting the MicroSD card as FAT, not FAT32. FAT32 may or may not be supported in the phone, FAT should be.

Thanks, according to the cards properties it is formatted as FAT. I flashed the phone to NEWC_X_01.09.02P, then loaded it back up to 912mb and the same thing happened, so I doubt the upgrade did anything to fix it. I now have 614mb on the card and it still reads the song list, so I’m afraid to add any more. I’ve pretty much given up, as far as I know I could have a corrupt song or there could be actually something wrong with the MicroSD card, thought I doubt it since it works everywhere else. Now I wonder if anyone has been able to fill one of these 1gb cards up with music on a v3m and actually play them back?
