I just got a reply back from Harman Becker it read: Working on releasing the update disc with Chrysler but they would put me on the mail list for the disc. If anyone would like to do the same here is the email address: mygig@harmanbecker.com. They got back to me with in a hour. I was shocked!
Hi...I spoke with Chrysler UConnect staff today and suprisingly enough...he knew about the problem. He said that a disk with an update was in the test mode to fix the V3m and several other phones. He wouldn't give me a firm date, but he said to check back in 30 days. He stated that I would have to go to the dealer, and the dealer would load the disk. I have been waiting four months for this problem to be resolved.
I landed on this thread because I was googling to find the best BT phone for my 2007 Dodge Charger SRT8 which has the Factory Nav/uconnect system. The list at dodge.com/uconnect of supported phones is rather short. The reason I am posting is because after reading this whole thread, I am a little confused: I have a brand new Verizon Razr V3m and it pairs up just fine with the uconnect system in my 2007 Dodge. Just came in from the garage where I pushed the button on the mirror, told it to to 'dial home' and it all woked just fine. I am not aware of any updates made to my nav system because the Dodge that I bought was a demo model which I doubt the dealer bothered to do any SW updates to. I did follow all the stuff about modifying the Razr and tried some basic stuff ,like changing the bar colors but I did NOT flash this to that Alltel firmware Joe
Did or didn't get it to work? I can get my Razr the pair but it you make a call as soon as it starts to ring it drops the call. If you got your to work I think the uconnect systems are different in the 2008.
Sorry - I thought my wording was clearer. I DID get the Verizon issued Motorola Razr V3M to work on my 2007 Dodge Charger SRT8 which has the factory installed uconnect system. The system is the one where you push the button on the Rear View Mirror and talk/listen throughtthe Mic/Stereo. The system looks like the enclosed photo (I just took the picture of mine). I can have it dial my V3M phone via voice commands and it does not drop the call until I either hang up the phone or push the button on the Mirror. This is OT but anyway - The only thing I can not figure out is that during the voice training, it has you say 'Star' & 'Pound' so I figured you could use that for such things as when you call your answering machine but no. You still have to touch the button on the cell phone.
The 2008 s different the button is on the radio not the mirror. don't know if they are even made by the same company. The 2008 system is made by Harman Becker it looks like this: eBay Motors: CHRYSLER/JEEP/DODGE REN MYGIG RADIO MP3 DVD CD (item 110227740963 end time Mar-02-08 21:40:00 PST)
Thank you for the information. This will make it clear for folks that may be 'goggling' on this topic.
Being that the URL has to be removed because it is Warez ( which is more then understandable). Can the name of the software and or the update name get posted so other people can hunt it down on there own if need be. I have no problem finding things myself just need the name of it is all. Thx
If you have a fix for allowing me to use my Motorola Razr V3M Bluetooth phone with Chrysler uconnect I would very much appreciate it. I just purchased a 2008 Chrysler Sebring Conv. With uconnect anc my Verizon Motorola Razr V3m will not work, I called the help number in the Chrysler owner’s manual and they said almost no currant Verizon phone work with their system. After spending almost $40,000 for this new vehicle I am more than a bit upset by Chryslers response. HELP Thanks for any input and help. Sincerely, monte1022
I received the update yesterday and installed it in a 2008 Avenger with the MyGIG system and UConnect. I was able to make a phone call from the car without being disconnected so at least basic functions with the v3m appear to be working now where they weren't in the past. The software level that they sent me was 9.713. If you google "Harman Becker 9.713" you will find places to download the new software and detailed instructions on the install.
Harman Becker issue update 9.713 aound April 1st. It should be going to the Chrysler/Jeep dealers shortly. I did get a copy and installed it in my 2008 Grand Cherokee Mygig Nav system and my V3m now works perfectly on the Verizon network.
Everyone...I have good news!!!! I received two update CD's from Harmon/Becker, and I loaded the software and my Motorola V3M works!!!!!!!!!!!!! I contacted Harman because of a previous e-mails that was sent. Unfortunately, I cut off the end with the return address, but here is the partial information. Harman/Becker ????? W. 12 Mile Road Farmington Hills, MI 48331 The company sent two disks: one was the software update which is 9.713. In our cars my husband and I had version 9.5 (if you check your system info, it will tell you what version software that you have). The other disc was Gracenote (which I haven't installed yet). I think it shows all of the titles and covers for music that you might upload to the harddrive. The book has info, but I didn't take time to read it. We have waited six months for this fix. The instructions say to make sure that all of the fuses are located in the engine compartment (which on the Chrysler 300 is in the trunk, under the deck). We were able to pair both cars from the same CD so it is reuseable. Just wanted to pass this on. It was this forum that helped me solve my problem. No one at Chrysler, Sprint, Motorola, or the dealership could help. THANK YOU, THANK YOU,THANK YOU!!! Nothing like paying for something that doesn't work. If I can be of any further help, please let me know. Have a blessed day!
Both my dh & I have AT&T and have not have any issues with our UConnect with any of our phones - V557, Razr V3 and my new Blackberry Curve. Love my Dodge UConnect products. Happy Handsfree Talking.
