How do you change out the Verizon VCast video on a razr v3m? It''s the one on start-up. I have pretty much all the tools needed to seem edit and replace files with bitpim but have not been able to find where the animation files are located and what file extension are they? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!

Yes it can work, but you need to have the phone unlocked first. Then you need to manually setup the internet and MMS settings.

Re: RAZR ( GSM versions v3 & v3i ) post your questions here.

You either need to find a local store that will unlock the phone for you, which should cost about $20-$40 depending on where you live. Then you can go onto Cingular's website and get the internet settings. If no local store will unlock it, or they want a lot of money you can download unlocking software from MotoUnlocker.com :: Motorola Unlock - Unimoto PLUS - MotoBlaze - Remote Unlocking Solution! and unlock it with a USB cable with your computer. I've used their services before and have been very pleased. Do not be deceived by people offering "unlock codes" The only way to get a valid unlock code for a Motorola phone is to get it from the carrier who originally sold it new. Since you are not a TMO customer they will not give you the code.

    RAZR V3 Suncom - Send/Recv photos

I have a V3 RAZR bought from eBay and operating on Suncom. Moved the SIM from old phone to it, and everything works great except I don't seem able to send or receive photos. Phone was made in UK (for Italy?). Is there something I can do to get it to work like a Suncom RAZR?

Re: RAZR ( GSM versions v3,v3i,v3x,v3T,v3R,v3xx ) post your questions here.

I have a Verizon V3m that I have been using to add ringtones and picture to and from my pc (using the reader on my printer, and yes, I formatted it before I used it). I dropped it a few times, but nothing major because both LCD screens work (although I think the connection gets loose and the screens blank out sometimes).

Anyways, one day my phone freezes while closed and I discover it has the black background with the verizon logo when i open the phone. I try to turn it off, but it doesn't work, so I take out the battery and try turning it on again. This time it turns on, but freezes at the same black screen w/ the verizon logo. Next, I try taking out the SD card and turning it on. Now, it works perfectly fine.

I don't exactly know what happened, but my (good) ringtones are stuck on the SD card, and every time I try to put it back in my phone, it just freezes.

(I did check online, and someone mentioned it was a design flaw, so I don't know.)

Sorry for the long post. I really hope this problem can be fixed...

EDIT: Also, I should mention that I have not flashed or modded my phone in any way, and I have had my phone for about a year.

A Verizon phone would be a CDMA model. Can a mod please move this to the CDMA forum?

Re: RAZR ( GSM versions v3,v3i,v3x,v3T,v3R,v3xx ) post your questions here.

Recently purchased my wife a Motorola V3xx UMTS GSM900/1800/1900 RAZR that was unlocked. I plugged in her sim card and the phone says that it is searching for a network and that's it. I won't do anything else. I bought it off EBAY, it was shipped from California and I live in KY. What do I need to do to get the thing to work? Or should I send it back to the seller?

    I appreciate any help.

It sounds like you bought the European Version of the V3xx. The NA version would be 850/1800/1900. Since at&t uses 850 & 1900 in the US, I am guessing that it is predominantly 850 in your area, which is why it is not finding a network. I would try to return the phone or sell it and get the NA version. :)

    Salutations to all,
My dilemma is, I took some photos from my computer and downloaded them on a phone SD card with the hopes to show them to friends and family. The phone does not see the photos. I can take pictures with the phone and transfer them to the card and vice versa but the phone still does not see the ones I took from the computer. What's that all about? Is it that the phone only recognizes the photos it takes?

Greetings Jay. New to the forum. My prob is, A friend gave me his v3x on the AT&T network. I put my old cingular sim card in and it works great. Problem is the phone is always showing that it is roaming. (2.5 and the little triangle under it!!) Is it actually roaming? My other phone never showed roaming. I am in the same area as before (Seattle area). The phone I believe is from either San diego or the East coast. Not sure where they got it from. Any suggestions? Thanks!!

Is this phone a V3x, or a V3xx? If it is indeed a V3x, this is normal behavior as the V3x is a European model, and was never released in the US.

It is a V3x, at least thats what it says under the battery cover. Would they be charging me overseas roaming rates do you know? I am on a ship at this time unable to use it, or contact AT&T wireless support, but I used the phone for a few days before we left.

If you are on a ship then yes, you are paying really expensive international roaming rates. Some ships have on board GSM networks that allow the use of cell phones while at sea. If the icon shows up in the continental USA ignore it, you're covered for the roaming by your rate plan.

I have a razr v3 and recently both my mini and main screens have stopped working. Sometimes if I am in the middle of a phone call my phone will basically reset itself and the screens will come back on. But if the phone turns off whether it be from me turning it off or from the battery dying, the screens stop working again. Does anybody have any clue what might be going on?

A number of things may cause this, but lets get the easy stuff out of the way. Has the phone ever gotten wet, been exposed to high humidity, or been dropped? Look under the battery of your phone. There should be a small round sticker there. What color is it? Also, how old is this phone?

Have a newer V3xx, and want to assgn ring tones to particular callers, but am not finding this option on this phone. Is there a "more options" link that I'm not finding or is it just not an option on this model... It's a good phone, but for the $442.. my sweet hear paid for it,,, (x-mas gift w/ no contract) it could be a heck of a lot more impressive.

Make sure you copy your contacts to the phone memory. That is not available for contacts stored in the SIM card. Once the contacts are in the phone menory edit the contact and you will see you can setup a special ringtone and callerID picture.

I am very new to this. Reading all these different threads from all these different dates is so confusing. First of all, Its 2008. Most of these threads started in 2006. I am wondering if it still works or not. I've read throught most of these and still cannot figure out what i'm doing wrong. I have a Motorola Razor V3 through Tmobile. I am trying to delete the factory ringtones off of here. I have the MPT already and I have a usb cord. Everytime I plug my phone up to the computer it charges. That's not what I want it to do but every lil bit helps. I am trying to delete some of the stuff that the phone came with so I can add more ringtones to my phone. I think this is possible but I don't know for sure. Can anyone help me please.

I don't think MPT will allow you to delete pre-installed content. Most of what in this thread still applies, but the hardest thing is to get the drivers working properly on your computer before you try to run any file transfer applications.

As long as they are the exact same model V3, and are running the same frimware version, then yes. You will probably have to get the phone unlocked and setup on TMO afterwards. That repair is kinda complicated. You may want to consider just replacing the phone., or better yet just get the AT&T phone unlocked and use that.

Please give more details on the problem you are having. I do not know if you are having a true issue with the device or not. No Razr models have touchscreens that I know of. Please reply back with your V3 model, your carrier, and the exact problem.

    Thanks, Jay
