Re: RAZR ( GSM versions v3,v3i,v3x,v3T,v3R,v3xx ) post your questions here. You cannot charge a totally dead Motorola phone by the USB cable. Only an original Motorola AC adapter can do this. USB charging requires the phone to be switched on first. If you do not have enough charge in the battery to turn on the phone, you cannot charge it via USB. -Jay
Re: RAZR ( GSM versions v3,v3i,v3x,v3T,v3R,v3xx ) post your questions here. Hello, would greatly appreciate any help with this. My Razr v3xx won't send text messages (but does recieve them). My friend gave me his old Razr v3xx. He called AT&T to get the code to unlock it. I put my t-mobile sim card in it, and it seems to work fine except for this text messaging problem. It does recieve text messages, and actually, a few of the text messages I have sent seem to have eventually gone through after hours. But most of them just get sent to my outbox with a message that it cannot send, and that it will try again later. Almost all of them are still sitting there in my outbox. My friend didn't have this problem when he was using the phone with his AT&T plan. I called T-mobile, and they ran me through their procedures, including re-starting and also making sure that the call center number I had programmed in was correct. The person I spoke to concluded that there was nothing on their end causing the problem, and that there must be some issue with the phone. Does anybody have any insight on this? Would greatly appreciate your help, I really can't afford to buy a new phone right now. I'm new to this forum. Thanks a lot.
Re: RAZR ( GSM versions v3,v3i,v3x,v3T,v3R,v3xx ) post your questions here. You need the phone setup with the proper internet and message settings for T-Mobile. In the T-Mobile forum I believe there is a thread with these settings... I think its even a sticky. Double check all these settings. Remember that in most cases all that information is case sensitive. It needs to be exactly the same to work. -Jay
Re: RAZR ( GSM versions v3,v3i,v3x,v3T,v3R,v3xx ) post your questions here. Hey guys, I'm new to this whole modding thing, and I just downloaded a font that I want to put on my phone. I have the P2K driver and the LeaderLG Flex Editor. Is there anything else I need and how do I get the font on my phone. Phone is a T-Mo Razr V3 Any help is appreciated
Re: RAZR ( GSM versions v3,v3i,v3x,v3T,v3R,v3xx ) post your questions here. I've never heard of installing extra fonts on a Razr. If it is possible the info should be at Planet MotoX™ dot Net: Motorola Modding... all that RAZR & more™ . -Jay
RAZR V3 Question I am interested in purchasing a RAZR V3 from ebay to replace a phone my company bought me. I am pretty sure it will work with my service (I have AT&T/Cingular now). I am interested in finding out from owners of the phone if it is possible to set periodic reminders when you have unread text messages on the phone. For my work, I receive system messages as email's to my phone and if a system goes down in the middle of the night, I need to be able to get up and check the messages. Sometimes, I dont hear the initial message if I am sleeping. My old phone had a 1 or 2 minute reminder which could be turned on so I would eventually wake up. Any help from existing users would be appreciated. Here is a link to the ebay listing I am looking at buying. Thanks
Re: RAZR V3 Question That appears to be what I call a "classic" model V3. Its been years since I had one of those on my belt, but I did have reminders where the phone would beep every 2 minutes or so for missed calls and unread messages. -Jay

Re: RAZR GSM versions Tmobile I purchased a Tmobile Rzr V3. Silver. I also purchased MPT Software with the USB cable. I have success in syncronizing the phone with my outlook, and being able to move Pictures from PC to phone and vice versa. I am not able to download music from PC to Phone. I keep getting a "Request denied by phone 000000000 0x4D" I would like to know if I use the instructions from the CDMA forum on the Razor V3, will that assist me and my phone? If not, what can I do?:loony: Eric.
i have a v3 phone. it alway shows headset log on the screen. I didn't plug the headset in. do you know what cost the problem?
ok, i have a problem. I bought a what was described as a VERIZON v3m razor on ebay 2 weeks ago. Phone works fine on call and regular txts, but will not send or recieve a picture text. I cannot access verizon ringtones or applications, so I took it to the verizon store today to do a software flash, and they tell me it can't be done because the phone is actually a cingular phone switched to verizon by the company on ebay! This would make sense seeing that verizon phones do not have sim cards and this phone has a place for one. I don't understand the difference between GSM and CDMA versions??? Is there anything I can do to get the software fixed on this brand new phone I just spent a hundred dollars on or am I just screwed? any help would be greatly appreciated, I've had a time with cell phones this year.
GSM and CDMA are two totally different network technologies. AT&T (Cingular) uses GSM, and Verizon uses CDMA. The devices are completely incompatible between networks. If you can make calls with that phone on Verizon's network then it is indeded a CDMA model. Sounds to me that you have a phone from another CDMA carrier like Alltel or Sprint, and the person in the store was too lazy to figure out exactly why the phone wasn't working for all features. -Jay
Hi Do any of you know that is this possible to transfer Quick Notes and Drafts from Moto Razr to PC? Thanks, in advance.
www.motomodders.net used to have it in their downloads section, but that site's been offline for a while, I don't know who is hosting the files now. -Jay
You had to install the driver, and run a program, I think it was PST, then plug the phone in. PST would then configure the computer to use the driver. That was the easiest way I remember doing it. -Jay
yeah u are right i just need to find the patch file 6.7 for it to work, anyone now where to find it. thnx
I have the same issue with hearing popping sounds when using my iPhone cell phone. However, I can now easily reproduce this. Holding the cell phone against my right ear and talking for at least 10 minutes causes a popping/clicking noise that appears to be coming from inside my head and perceived in my left ear. At this time, my iPhone is very warm -almost hot. To make sure that the sound is not sourcing from the iPhone speaker, I hold the phone at arms length. It is still close enough to hear the conversation. However there is no popping/clicking sound. Placing the iPhone against my right ear again cause the noise to be perceived again. I cannot reproduce this by holding the phone against my left ear. This is all very disturbing, especially since I can reproduce this every time. At first I dismissed this as a form of tinnitus or some other sinus related issue. However, after talking to several people who have "heard" this as well, I am now confident that there is a connection between an overheated cell phone being held against the skull and sound being perceived in the opposite ear. If you can reproduce this, I would be interested to hear this. -Bill
I have a Motorola RAZR V3 that I need to unlock. The details are: IMEI: **************** Provider: Cingular/AT&T Country of service: USA Can anyone tell me how to get the subsidy unlock code for this phone? Thank you to anyone who can help. PDayal:
You will need to contact at&t for the unlock code. Provided you're a customer in good standing they will usually give you the code. If you're not an at&t customer you will need to have it unlocked with a USB cable. many cell phone shops do this, charging anywhere between $20 and $50. You can also unlock via a USB cable over the internet. I've used internet services before that you plugged the phone into the computer, and logged onto an unlock site and they unlocked it for you. That cost me $25 and was fairly easy. You may want to try this. I don't remember the website anymore though...
Jay, I just bought a V3 off eBay (supposedly new, might be a refurb). During charging, what color should the battery icon be on a V3? Mine is yellow, and I'm concerned that something may be wrong with charger/charging port/battery. Thanks
Re: ***HAVE A RAZR QUESTION?*** Visit the RAZR forum i have razr v3xx phone battery last one day have more then one battery all the same phone can be off and still only lasts a day any thoughts!
Hello, My razr was fine the last time i used it. then i let it sit a while and found the backlight was staying on. I opened it to find that I have absolutely no control over the device and the backlight now flickers on and off along with the keyboard lights. Then it started dialing 6s. LOTS of 6s and the occasional 5. The speaker volume also changed by itself. It was also kept launching the internet browser (witch is really annoying because I dont pay for internet and the keypad was unresponsive, I had to pull the battery to avoid getting charged.) Incoming calls could be accepted for a while, but now the callers phone fails the call. I did not get it wet or drop it. ANY advice at all??!??!!?!?
If you have the original Motorola user interface, you should see the battery bars blink in sequence (1 - 2 - 3), then once it is fully charged, the battery icon should be solid, as it has reached full charge (or the battery indicator will blink, but all the bars are full). It's either a series of bad batteries (of which I've experienced from Motorola OEM batteries) or your phone is on the way out and is draining the life out of the batteries. Your signal strength and 3G strenght can also affect battery life. The stronger the both are, the less the battery drains, provided you have a good battery. Sounds like the phone is on its deathbed. Unless you know how to repair phones, I'd recommend replacing it.
Hi, I have a GSM unlocked razr v3, and I would like to use boost mobile's or T-Mobile's prepaid service. However, my phone didn't come with a SIM card, so how do I go about getting one?
A GSM V3 won't work for Boost. If you would like to use it for T-Mobile go to your local T-Mobile store and have them get you a SIM card, and activate service. -Jay
i have a v3, try everything to unlock it for free. peaple keep telling me it's possible but how. i bought a usb cable and i have mpt software
