In order to keep the Motorola forum from getting cluttered with new threads regarding questions about the Razr we will now have two sticky threads of the two versions of the Razr, one will be for the GSM versions which inlcudes the v3 & v3i, and the other will be for the CDMA versions v3c & v3m. We will add to these threads as new versions are released.

Please keep discussions in the proper threads or post will be deleted.

    Matt welcome to WA....
and thanks for being one of the few that can follow directions by using the sticky thread..;)

you're gonna need to do some seem editing to get rid of those chararcters...
read through this tutorial and look for the FAQ, it will look like this:

I keep getting wierd text messages from ^@ and _@ and/or my voicemail indicator is always on. How do I fix this? Adjust seem 0032, offset 02, bit 1. Unfortunately, this will likely cause you to lose manual network selection.

Nope, you need a CDMA version to work with Verizon. They are not compatible.

    What's V3i's data sync rate?

Through USB and BT. Anyone know?

Ok, maybe someone can save me time searching the forums.

Have a V3 Razr (new, 2 months). Soon after I paired it with a Moto BT headset, the END key stops functioning. I unpaired BT, turned BT off, and powered down the Razr. Problem still comes and goes. I don't think it really is related to BT. The END key will not work, even pressing hard and for many seconds.

It's working now, but I'm ready to send it back for replacement. Anyone heard of this END key problem? I don't think it is related to the BT pairing.

    Thanks,

Viewfly, i have not encountered that problem with any of my Razrs, i think you're right, it sounds like a handset glitch to me.

I have a razr v3 and received a message from +44444 it sounded exactly like someone I know but they insist it was not them and I have no idea who sent it. This has caused me some problems

How can you track who sent a message and how do you send an anonymous message?

    Hey all:

I have an unlocked RAZR that I am using with my T-Mobile SIM card (the display says I am on a Cingular network, but I am in California).

Problem: whenever I call in to my voicemail, I get this text message that contains two characters of gobbledy-guk. Any ideas on how to make it stop doing that?

    Thanks in advance!

Re: RAZR ( GSM versions v3 & v3i ) post your questions here.

To fix the VM indicator you need to modify a bit in the phone's OS. THis is the bit that needs to be changed:

To fix the VM you need to change the following bit in your phone's OS:

    SEEM 0032_0001 offset 02 bit 1 = 1 (on)

You will loose manual network selection, but your VM indicator will function properly and you will not have that annoying "line 1" indicator at the top of your phone's screen either.

To fix the network name issue you need to install a newer version of a file called plmn_text_table.bin on your phone. In California TMO bought the old CIngular network. You phone was obviously made before this happened.

Either one of these mods will void your warranty, and if not done right may render your phone useless. Your choices are to either push boldly ahead, find someone in your area with experience to help you, or just live with the quirks.

Obviously I am new here. I am too busy to search for the answer to my question so I don't know if it's posted here or not. I use GMail and and I desperately want to use MEdiaNet (I'm on Cingular) to access my email account. Needless to say, I can't. It always states that the page cannot be displayed. I looked through GMail's help files and they suggest that I take it up with Motorola itself. Any ideas guys? Upgrade the firmware maybe? Can that even be done?

Try going to wap.gmail.com on your phone. If this doesn't work then I don't think you will be able to access it on a mobile phone.

    Hello

I'm new to these forums. I want to move pictures from my V3 to my PC but I can't seem to get it to work correctly.

I have the USB cable with the appropriate connections and I have tried to install MPT but it will not detect my phone at all. XP recognizes some sort of USB device when it is connected but MPT doesnt see anything.

If windows is not seeing your V3 as a "Motorola USB Modem" then you do not have the drivers installed correctly.

It is possible, you will need to unlock the phone from CIngular first though.

    1. What is SEEM? (RAZR from T-Mobile)
    2. What do I need to charge my RZR through the computer?
    3. The new phone batteries, do they need to be completely discharged before charging or they do not have memory anymore and can be charged any time?
    4. Should you have the phone power off when charging?
    5. Can you use the phone while charging?

    Thank you
    Natasha

I don't have a foolproof way to do it yet. The drivers do not play nice with Win xp with SP2 installed. I'd try to reinstall or update the drivers.

Re: RAZR ( GSM versions v3 & v3i ) post your questions here.

Hi - I'm new here, and need help with a phone poltergeist. It'd be great if someone's able to help, or point me to the answer on some other thread.

I've had my RAZR for over a year, with no problems.

Then the day before yesterday, a new person (someone I've just met and gave my number to) texted me, and when I opened her text, my phone tried to connect to the internet. I'm sure I didn't press a wrong key. I got it to cancel, but since then my phone has been acting very strangely.

First of all, it started making a crazy noise, and the battery went down much quicker than normal. Then, after charging, it wouldn't switch on at all. Then later, it switched on, but the keyboard decided to have a life of its own - I was out of control of what was happening. It wouldn't respond to me and was kind of possessed, "hitting" odd keys without my touching them. Plus, it kept shutting down after about a minute.

Then, it stopped the possession thing, and began acting normally - as if it was convalescing - shutting down every few minutes at first, but then switching back on again when I told it, and gradually staying on for longer periods. I even managed to text my friend back and pick up some voicemail.

On the third day, today, I still have problems. First, it's still occasionally and randomly shutting down - I can't rely on it to be working for more than ten minutes. Second, every now and then it just decides to dial 6666666666666....

All of which is starting to make me think I need a phone exorcism.

    Help, please!

Re: RAZR ( GSM versions v3 & v3i ) post your questions here.

I've never heard of this happening, but the first thing I would do is take the battery & SIM card out for 5 minutes, then put them back in. If that didn't work I guess I'd try a master reset. If that doesn't work then I'd look into flashing it with a monster pack.

    Good luck.
