It Actually Happened... CDMA RAZR Announced Motorola announced a CDMA RAZR. It's a little thicker than the GSM RAZR, but upgrades to a megapixel camera. But get this: it won't be released in the US until late 2006. It's just like Verizon to be two years behind . See Phone Scoop for details.
RAZR for CDMA is official For those reading this forum regularly, this shouldn't come as a big shock. Moto unveiled the RAZR for CDMA yesterday at CTIA. I was only off by 3 months. The phone picks up the same advantages newer GSM RAZR models will also have later this year, most importantly a 1.3 MP camera. The CDMA RAZR will be available in the summer in Asia and for Verizon about this time next year. Enjoy the wait. http://money.cnn.com/services/tickerheadlines/prn/cgtu059.P1.03152005161846.05955.htm Fans of CDMA will get to be excited for awhile... until they learn about the next RAZR for GSM later this year. :browani: Also announced is the V266p which is the V265 but with PTT and a better screen. A 3 MP slider camera phone for CDMA was announced, although the only way it will see North America is when a Korean on vacation brings it along. The V323 is a V600 look alike for CDMA also. Re: It Actually Happened... CDMA RAZR Announced Gideon and I posted at the same time. Great minds think alike. The CDMA V3 will actually be available in the US in EARLY 2006, with hopes of it being available by the end of THIS year.
Re: It Actually Happened... CDMA RAZR Announced Lol this isn't the first time this happened between us this time if I remember correctly . Was it early 2006? My mistake. But if Motorola releases is early 2006... then when will Verizon picking it up? After 7 years of testing?
Re: RAZR for CDMA is official That's good news, so, if this is such a worthless phone, why would they make a CDMA version? i wonder what terrible flaws people will find in the CDMA version .. Which brings me to the question, how much will Verizon sell this one for?
Re: RAZR for CDMA is official It has already been said the CDMA version will cost $25 more because of the extra expense of CDMA. Now if that extra cost is passed along to the consumer, we'll find out next year.
Re: RAZR for CDMA is official The MS550 looks interesting but a few sites seem to confuse this with the Razr. To clarify, the Razr is a flip and the MS550 is a slider. Both look pretty good to me.
Re: It Actually Happened... CDMA RAZR Announced ...that's what I said a few months ago and nobody believed me
Re: RAZR for CDMA is official I posted a few months ago that a CDMA RAZR will be released sometime, and nobody believed me
Re: RAZR for CDMA is official Great news for CDMA'ers, but to have to wait a year??? What a kick to the jimmies. If I was still on CDMA I honestly don't know if I would be happy about this or not. It's great that some decent technology is being applied to an upcoming CDMA phone...but to wait a year??, they are not launching a space shuttle....just swap out the guts and be done with it. If I was still on CDMA I think I would be like.."why bother?"
Re: It Actually Happened... CDMA RAZR Announced I have visions of the Kyocera Slider fiasco all over again....cool phone coming...just have to wait....and wait....and wait....and wait....and wait....and wait....and wait....and wait....and wait....and wait....and wait....and wait....and wait....and wait....and wait....and wait....and wait....and wait....and wait....and wait....and wait....and wait....and wait.... Then it ends with..."What phone was I waiting for??"
Re: It Actually Happened... CDMA RAZR Announced Its nice that they are doing this but with CDMA and Verizon they are always behind. Hopefuly they will include the latest technology when they put it all together
Re: RAZR for CDMA is official Are you sure you posted that here? I've known about this since the first week of January and would have jumped on any chance to talk about this instead of vague hinting around. I searched your previous posts here and it was never mentioned. Now if you said it in one of your 2400+ other posts... maybe people missed it while reading another of your posts.
Re: It Actually Happened... CDMA RAZR Announced Yes....who can forget that swift kick to the jimmies...
Re: RAZR for CDMA is official Couldn't agree more. When Cingular subscribers are moving to another better Motorola in 2006, they'll be telling us CDMA users that the Razr is so old fashioned. :lmao:
Re: RAZR for CDMA is official I merged the two threads together, so it might look a little funny, but you won't have to worry about reading both threads to get *all* the info.
Re: RAZR for CDMA is official I am not a very good waiter..... You would think they could get the CDMA version implemented a lot faster...Even if you didn't buy one...like I don't have the GSM version, it would be great to at least have the option. Verizon is a great provider, rock solid...and now that they are being more competitive with their pricing (9.99 additional lines) they are all the better. But it's the "wait another year...if it actually comes out at all" that I couldn't stomach. Fingers crossed for you all that are on CDMA and would like to have this phone. They mentioned Verizon.....what about Sprint? A V3 for them?
Re: RAZR for CDMA is official Lol never count on a new Motorola for Sprint. Even the V60v was a surprise for me. But who knows... it may happen. You get the same odds that Sprint will carry it at all just like if Verizon will carry it sometime before fall 2006 . Lol I'll stop kidding now. I just only get this chance once per quarter.
Re: RAZR for CDMA is official Well hopefully all of Verizon's future phones....well not all of them but the high end models will feature VCAST. Hopefully the RAZR will come down in price if it released in the first half of the year....since our NE2 won't apply until November 21 of 2006. Then, hopefully Verizon will have some sweet phones to choose from.
Re: RAZR for CDMA is official I think it would need to be released first and sold for a some months before you see any mark downs, and i don't see that happening anytime soon after it's released.
I think that this phone will be popular for the big providers Sprint VZW will get good sales if it is EV-DO ready. I don't think I will buy one. Hopefully it won't be built so fast that it comes out crapy.
How many of you are actually paying an extra $15 per month to get 1 minute videos of Paris Hilton? My bet is very few. An extra $360 over a phone contract doesn't seem worth it.
I am sure V Cast will get better once it becomes more and more nationwide and EV-DO rev A comes out. When 1XRTT came to Logan in Feb 2002 it was $99 for VZW Express Network now it is $79 for Broadband/National Access. It is possible to be $10 in the future like in 2006.
Can you get anything from Verizon for 10 dollars???? Yes, that's right you can, an additional line on a family plan...oh wait, that is only after you already have two. :browani:
