Yes, signal from the tower goes to your phone only, your BT headset connects to the phone so as long as your headset's signal reaches your phone and your phone's signal reaches the tower, you should have no problems.
Mine usually works for about 100 feet, unless the signal is going through a lot of walls or floors. I gotta say I'm addicted and won't consider any new phone that didn't have bluetooth. -Jay
Ohhh come on, you know that I know that. But anywhere, here is what I have experienced so far. I purchased a Jabra 350 at circuit city. It is very good at close range, but does not work well at more than a few feet. I dont think this is the headsets fault, but the phones. The Samsung a900 is known for being a terrible bluetooth phone. Oh well, I smell a return.
Yeah, the Moto V551/7 and the V3 both have excellent BT range. One of my employees has a V3 and I picked up his phone one day and made my phone a "trusted" device. If I see him goofing off I start sending stuff to his phone. It pisses him off. -Jay
Wirelessly posted (Walkguru's: Nokia6682/2.0 (3.01.1) SymbianOS/8.0 Series60/2.6 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 UP.Link/6.3.0.0.0) Ive heard that blue jacking can be fun.
Yeah, but with Motorola phones the phones need to "trust" each other first, otherwise you won't be able to connect to it, or even see it in some cases. -Jay
Yeah, I would return it... if you can't walk around your house with the BT headset and not experience some kind of problem, there is an issue with your phone. (I have also heard that Jabras are pretty good.) It's weird that such a high end phone would have a problem like that with Bluetooth. Hmmm...
Yeah, right now my phone is sitting in the next room (about 10 feet through a wall) and while being usable, I would not want to hold a conversation on it. This Jabra is great though. The only other headset ive tried was the moto H500, that thing was all static with the phone just in my pocket! The a900 has some serious range problems. I have seen in threads that becuase of the short battery life, the phone will not up the power to the bluetooth module and clear up the static.
I don't like the H500 that much. I like my HS850 because it auto-connects and is a little easier for me to hear on but the HS820 is unsurpassed, in my experience, for BT signal strength. My uncle-in-law has a Jabra with a V551, I think, or maybe a v557. He loves it.
