Nextel is HUGE here in FL (and many other areas) everywhere you go you hear radios. Mostly business users use them (ex. Home Builders, Contractors, etc., who aren't Internet savy:p ), but back to the topic in question.

I have Boost Mobile (Nextel PrePaid) with a BB 7510. I will probably drop it at the end of the month. I have no need for it with the two lines I have with Sprint now.

Nextel, Sprint and Boost Mobile customers can all use their free mobile to mobile minutes with each other so that helps a lot. :)

Larry, free mobile to mobile? Nextel has that too? I thought the only thing free with Nextel was the direct connect?

My bad. I meant Sprint users (who have free pcs to pcs) now have a larger mobile to mobile calling base. I haven't really checked to see what Nextel is offering yet.

Yea been with them a while, I have seen service/coverage really improve in and around Atlanta in the last 4 years or so. I'm using an i355 and love it, really durable and good voice quality. Anyone here the new group connect feature?

:) hi all, just found this forum a little bit ago.
We have had nextel phones for the last 3 years, love the direct connect feature, both my kids have em, hubby has one, coworkers have em.
rite now, my husband and i have the i530, my son has a camera phone and i am not sure what my daughter and her hubbie has.

Also a couple of weeks ago, i bought the motorola im240 wireless modem card, and service. I have had some problems of connection and maintaining connection. It is also slow on the downloads.

Anyway hope u all are well and hale.

We live in south louisiana also, and here lately everywhere u go, u hear nextel direct connect.

Since I became a Nextel user a month ago, I guess I am now part of the club.
I have an i530 that the county has given me all of our fire investigation team leaders get one, they work better then our 2 way radios most times (except parts of my house).

No I do like it & use to have them for my towing business about 5+ years ago, just find the coverage is poorer in my area over my Cingular service, Maybe now that Sprint has them there coverage area's will improve.
The direct connect feature is a great tool to have & is something that I might consider with Cingular if I ever need to migrate over, but they need to give me a really, really good reason to do that.

When I'm in Massachusetts I use Nextel. Also, in Arizona I have Boost Mobile. Maybe I'll get Nextel here in Brasil? I heard they have good international DC rates down here :D. But they don't have a lot of the newer phones (and they have the old Nextel logo still), so we'll see.

Don't forget about me. I've been with Nextel for about a year or so since I switched from Verizon. I haven't really been active in the forums much, but I do read them still from time to time.
