When adding a line to a Family Share program and buying a phone at the same time, will you get the appropriate discount for a 1 year contract?

Yes. You must sign a separate 1-year contract for the Family SharePlan extra line though, so remember that should you cancel before your contract is up, you'll be charged multiple ETFs!

Very clever, they regard the ETF's as independent, belonging to each phone line. So, if you stagger the addition of lines then you lengthen your exposure, or put another way, your tied to a contract that much longer.

Gotta hand it to those MBA's, all that education really pay's off for the busineses bottom line

I think the separate contract per phone is a good idea. I got my first phone almost 2 years ago--on my family's VZW plan. Since then, I've gotten married, started my own service so my wife would have a phone, and added my number to that plan. However, I only signed a 1 year contract in June because I thought I would have to wait it out to get a rebate to upgrade my Kyocera 2235. I called customer service and found out that my phone is eligible for upgrade in 9 weeks--that sure beats waiting until April. Anyway, I would have signed a 2 year contract for my wife's phone if I'd known so I could save some money. I'm sticking with VZW for a while because most of the family is in the same boat and we're happy with it here in TN.

When I upgrade, I was thinking about the VX 4600. I like the design over the 4500, but don't need the camera (or added cost) of the 6000. So far I haven't heard enough negative to turn me away. Anyone want to weigh-in on the all-digital aspect?
