Hi, I have a question that the Cingular phone reps can't seem to answer, so I thought someone here might know. I am currently a Werizon Wireless Customer, and am considering switching to Cingular because of the new Unity Plan. I currently have 4 phones on a family plan with Verizon. I can go to the Verizon website and shut a phone off by simply switching that number to an old, nonworking phone that i have. I like the ability to turn a phone of/on easily. Does the Cingular website offer this ability? Also, can you track current phone usage on the website? Thanks so much for your help.

You can definately track your phone(s) usage on cingular.com. It is pretty accurate here. I live in western kentucky. It updates every night and is usually right on. You can also send a free * call to cingular to check your phone minutes anytime. They send back an sms message. It is free.

You can suspend your account online but you have to call customer service to have it switched back on. I'm not sure if there is any other way to do this at random. I've only done this once when I lost my phone.

On the web site, there is a link to report your phone as stolen, where you can deactivate, reactivate, or replace your phone.

With Cingular (or any other GSM carrier), if you want to move a number to another phone, you can just move your activated sim card to another phone. The sim card is activated, not the phone itself.

    I hope this helps. :)

Yes, Thank you, that does help. I have three teenagers with phones, so I want to be able to shut them off if the need arises!
