Not all questions r answered a few peeps here dont know much what they r talking about i am sure if u would ask a teir 2 vision tech they can tell u the crap u have to go through with the lg 5350. Been there done that but those of u who are downloading the dialer stop wasting your time download the pcs connection manager with the air prime 32 drivers it has all the drivers you need. Ans get rid of the serial to usb driver u are wasting your time not only is it ungodly slow it is not even close to right. You can't use the serial to usb cable from radio shack with the 5350 if you want full connection speed. With the serial cable it is 14.4. Go to www.futuredial.com and read the tech support announcements for really detailed information about the usb cable for the 5350. Trust me on this I have been through all this crap already just get the straight usb cable from futuredial, u can buy it on their website and it comes with the lg drivers u need, if you are not getting 144 kbps connection u are doing something wrong it will show up in the device manager under the usb as "LG Composite Device" and the Modem will be listed under your modems as "LG USB CDMA Modem"

    DIrections as follows for LG:

run setup.exe from the cd you got with the cable or it is also listed under drive :\sprintpcs\airprime\drivers\lgdrivers\setup.exe from the connection manager listed above, this will install the drivers to your hard drive

next just plug the cable into the phone make sure it is turned on and set to connection off, usb, and 115200 this part doesn't really matter if it is 115 or 230 i have had it working both ways

it should run the new hardware wizard and install the drivers itself if it doesnt just point it to the lg drivers folder under the lgdrivers for connection manager or on the cd from futuredial.

do not install connection manager it has alot of problems

    create a dialup ,
    user name:
    password:
    phone number: #777

do not enter a username or password people it will pull the information from the phone when u use it

#777 is the dialup for 3g vision

the web password and stuff is for 2g, older wireless web, vision users do not use that

modem properties need to be set hardware flow control on
modem errors on and modem compression on for the 5350

u get a much better connection that way

AND I REPEAT PEOPLE STOP GETTING THE SERIAL TO USB CABLE IT IS A WASTE OF MONEY, IF IT HAS A ROUND DEAL IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CABLE PUT IT BACK ON THE SHELF GET IT FROM FUTUREDIAL.COM THEY WILL GET U THE RIGHT CABLE

i have the 5350 and have had no problems at all with it i all so have hooked up the n400 and now i have the a500 great phone
i used them all with my presario laptop no prblems except sprints packet aborting"for those of you who dont understand" the great disconnect u get every 1 to 8 seconds of inactivity, go to www.iopus.com and download the IOPus AC Plug, it is freeware, it is a cool little program that help you keep a small packet flow so sprint cant drop you as much, it aint fullproof but it really helps

if anyone needs more detailed help you can email me at rashe05@sprintpcs.com

I WILL SAY ONE THING FOLKS, IT IS NICE TO HAVE THIS ADVANTAGE THAT US SPRINTUSERS HAVE AND SPRINT IS BEING NICE ABOUT IT
DO NOT ABUSE IT, I REPEAT DO NOT ABUSE IT, THEY ALREADY CUT THE NETWORK BACK FROM PEOPLE ABUSING IT TOO MUCH, THAT IS WHY WE ALL GET DISCONNECTED ALL THE TIME, I DONT KNOW ABOUT YOU BUT I LIKE THE MOBILITY AND THE USAGE OF IT.
DONT SCREW IT UP FOR THE REST OF US!!!!

From the Previous post, The reason you get disconnected all the time, has to do with errors in Sprint markets served with a Nortel switch, there is a problem in those markets. The data card drivers have been recently updated to fix this problem with the data cards, but you will still see the problems with the data cables.

Markets with Lucent switches do not have this problem with being disconnected.
