    I need a cheap phone badly! And I've been dieing to have a Red V3M. I found this one which is used, but cannot be activated through sprint because of an outstanding bill. Can I have it flashed onto my service and it be used? I dont see why not, cause my old phone had a 2000 dolor bill on it, and it was a verizon phone, flashed to cricket.

    I want it soo bad and I hope that I win the bid...

    Also, what are the differences from Sprint phones and Alltel Phones? I know whats on Verizon phones and hate it, but what about sprint?

    You cannot get a Sprint phone to work on the Verizon/Alltel network with data services such as text or pix msg. About the only thing I think you could do is flash it with either Verizon or Alltel monster firmware...which should work, but the next posssible problem would be whether or not your carrier would activate a phone with an ESN that is not in their system...Purchase at your own risk

    So this Razr that you're trying to buy has an outstanding bill and prior to that you also had an outstanding bill of $2000 and flashed the handset from that account to be used with Cricket?

    Is this just coincidence?

    That last one was confusing. My last phone besides the razr that I had flashed to Cricket, I got from a friend and it was a Verizon phone, and it had an outstanding bill from Verizon, not in my name. It was the previous owners bill..... the new one I want, he said he'll sell it to me for 100 bucks, has an outstanding bill on Sprint.

    I dont have Alltel or Verizon. I have Cricket. My v3c was an Alltel phone being used on the Cricket network. The only things I could use was just the phone service and text messaging. No picture messaging or internet or anything like that. But I dont really care, as long as I have a phone with the mp3 playback option and the ability to expand the memory.

    So what your saying is, if I were to take that sprint phone, and flash it onto V or A I wouldn't be able to use any data services. Just phone service... Unless I did a monster flash to a different firmware. Cricket has no problem with activating a phone that has an esn that isn't in thier system. They did my RAZR and Samsung phone. The phone would just have to be flashed onto the cricket network. I'm going to call a local wireless store that does all my flashing to see what they say. I'm going to have to do a monster flash anyways, so I could use this as my learning curve. I can't risk screwing up my fiancee's v3m when I do the Alltel monster flash.

    I wish I knew how I Could do my own flashing onto diff networks, so I dont have to pay 50 flippin bucks to get this razr flashed onto crickets network like I had to do with my last razr.

    Yea, you could probably flash your phone to Alltel's MONSTER firmware. This should treat it like it was just purchased from Alltel (not activated or anything, just brand new). The monster files completely wipe out what is on the phone, and install a fresh firmware. Just keep in mind that sometimes these conversions dont work, and could leave the phone useless. This doesnt happen often, but it is a possibility. For instance, people who had the E815 were trying to monster flash their phone to Bell E816 f/w to gain java, and that wouldnt work. But my guess is this one would. However, you may be interested in leaving the Sprint f/w on the phone since it has java, and I believe you were askign about java a while back werent you? Anyways, then according to your description of cricket ( i have no idea who they are), you could bring the phone to them, they would "light flash" it or w/e they do and get it working on their network. Perhaps you should ask them what kind of phones they reccomend flashing from to their service...maybe they can only go Verizon/Alltel -> Cricket, and myabe they cannot go Sprint -> Cricket.

    yeah, I'm going to call the local cell shop that does the light flashing for me, and ask them if the sprint razr can be flashed to cricket.

    Cricket = www.mycricket.com

    When they light flash a phone onto different networks, the only things that will work is text and phone. no picture messaging or internet. Cricket sells RAZR's and SLVR's and KRZR's... but the RAZR is only a v3c. My RAZR was an Alltel V3C light flashed to the Cricket Network. So it still has the alltel firmware (even tho cricket uses the same setup pretty much), but I can only place and recieve calls, and send and recieve text messages. IF I try a pix message it says there is something wrong with the network.

    Now I just have to find someone to buy my iPAQ in order for me to come up with the cash in the next two days!
