I'm thinking about getting my first smart phone and these three phones caught my eye, mainly because of price. Are there any compelling reasons why one is better than the other? I'm looking for reliability (is it always freaking out on me, or acting weird), durability (if i drop it with it shatter or does it scratch h really easily), How good is the battery life when I'm not using web vs when I am, as well as just talking and texting on it, how good are the screens? Also please do not suggest the iPhone 5 or any only crazy expensive phones I am going for a cheap but nice phone. Thank You.

I don't know anything specific about the L9, but in general if you're getting an Android phone that does not come directly from Google, you can pretty much forget about software updates. Plus, I personally prefer pure Android devices to manufacturer "skins".

Nexus 4 will be a reasonably solid device. The only really bad thing I can say about it is the battery is non-removable. A lot of people don't care about that. It also lacks LTE, which may or may not be a concern for you. It'll likely receive official updates from Google for another year, and then you'll have to rely on the community to port newer versions of Android to it.

For the Lumia 521, read this excellent review by Quint101 right here: http://forums.wirelessadvisor.com/m...phones/83139-my-foray-into-windows-phone.html

    Hope this helps.

The Lumia 521 sounds like a good choice to me.
