I just got a v3m phone and a micro sd card. Do I need to sync the phone with WMP through the phone or can add the files directly to the card with a flash card reader. I have an "all-in-one" usb card reader that I can plug my micro sd card into and the pc can read it. If I can do this, would just dragging and dropping wma files to the root directory work or is there a directory I need to create first? Any help would be appreciated.

I searched around the forums a bit and noticed adding files through my card reader does work, but what directory works with Verizon? I saw a couple different methods mentioned.

Format the card in the PHONE first. Then put the music (wma) into the /motorola/sahred/audio folder.

Ok, I just found this thread and am trying to do this now ... I formatted my Flash card on the cell phone ... took the card out and put it into the flash reader and started Windows Media Player 11 ... it recognized the device and allowed me to sync my music to it ... I went in to MyComputer and moved the songs to the audio file you list here ... but my phone does not play the music so I suspect I'm doing something wrong. If I can accomplish this, I won't bother getting my phone connected to WMP11 anymore and I'll just stick to using MPT and P2K since I seem to have the best luck w/ those programs.

    Any help would be appreciated!

Edited to add: I've tried syncing WMA music files, Mp3 files, etc and then move them to the Motorola/Shared/Audio folder and keep getting this error message. When I go into Get it Now and try to play the music, I get "Player Error - Music is not available" although I am able to play music that is on my phone ... just nothing that is on my storage card.

i also have a v3m with a micro sd card and im trying to find a way to get music to the phone using the card.
its a major pita to connect the phone to the computer and make it get along with it...

i tried placing the mp3 in the motorola/shared/audio folder, however nothing is showing up inside of the vcast audio player.

any other suggestions, or some seam edit i have to do?

    Thanks for the help!

MUSIC must be in wma format and stored in the 'my_music' folder. Also, it CANY be a protected file (purchased from iTunes, Walmart, etc).

RINGTONES must be in mp3 format and be stored on the PHONE's memory.

Is there a fix that I need for syncing the Sprint V3m to WMP11? I've been reading around and I can't find the exact answer. Would it just be easier to down grade to WMP10?

Syncing with WMP is for Verizon ONLY.
