So I'm nearing the end of my contract, was going to bail, but they say Feb 15th on the Q, so I'm going to stick around until at least the 16th to see and I was wondering a few things:

    1. What do you think the price of the Q will be?

    2. Can I trade in my UTStarcom PocketBrick?

    3. If not, do you suggest I sell it on eBay?

    4. How much cheaper will the Q be if I redo my contract (scarrrryyyy)?

    Thanks in advance.

I'm wondering the same thing about the price of the Q and I'm having a hard time deciding what they will do. I see two options:

    1. They'll decide they want to be competitive with the pricing of the Verizon and Sprint Qs and the Blackjack. That would mean a $199 two-year price after a $100 mail-in rebate. The retail would be $499.

    2. They will price it like the 700wx because they think that if they don't, most people will just buy the cheaper phone and they won't sell another 700wx. ( I realize that Windows 5.0 and Windows Smartphone are two completely different systems, that the Treo has a touchsreen and the Q doesn't, etc., but most people don't necessarily pay that much attention to that) So that would mean $349 for a two-year price after a $100 mail-in rebate. The retail would be over $600.

Because of Alltel's history with smartphone pricing, I think, unfortunately, option 2 is going to be what we see. But I'm praying we'll be pleasantly surprised....

I got word that the most recent info puts the price at $199 after a $100 mail-in rebate. That would put probably put the one-year price at around $350 with no rebate available and $500 or so retail. I hope that info holds....

Now that is the kind of price I can deal with, I also hope it holds true.

That would be awesome but knowing Alltel, we'll get silver. Or red, but not the Product (RED) version, the "fire" red version that doesn't benefit charity.

(And before someone asks, I don't think there's a Red Q, I'm just making fun of Alltel's propensity for obtaining red Motorola phones.)
