Im confused. Im traveling to puerto rico tormorrow and want to know if ill have service. Their maps indicate native coverage. But i called sprint and first i was told that i might have bad service or roaming charges, and today they told me i needed an international calling plan and hung up on me. So im confused, will i or will i not have coverage and will it be extra? also, what happened to all the roaming, the whole island used to have digital roaming and now there isnt any??? anyone know anything??

You will be fine in PR. Sprint has a well built out network there with EVDO and everything

I was a Puerto Rico resident for a lot of years and there should be no problems with Sprint coverage. I had Sprint for years over there. There are some spots with out coverage but only some sectors of the center island where the mountains are really high but like I mentioned you'll be fine. Also there should be no roaming charges since Puerto Rico is US Country.

Well I'm back. The coverage was ok. My phone was broken up a lot when i called home even though i had full bars. I think that this was because of the airport being right next to me however, it probably caused some interference because farther away from the airport it sounded fine when i called home. Overall i was impressed though. My phone worked very deep in the jungle, my friends ATT phone didnt. There were some places out in the sticks where i had digital roaming. It doesnt seem like a lot of ppl there have sprint though. Most of them seem to have either Verizon or something called centennial.

Good to hear. I thought ATT had a network in PR?
