Hi guys i need some help.

While using bitpim i go to the settings and it lists Motorolla USB Modem under available ports. However it doesnt detect the phone for some reason.

One time i tried sending a ringtone and it seemed like it was workin but it stopped halfway and said Cannot make transition from none to modem.

    Please richard help me. Thanks

Hey guys, I've been browsing this thread for a few hours now thanks to a google search, but have had no luck fixing my problems (though its been a huge help in getting started). I'm the proud new owner of a V3m, trying to get it set up with Bitpim so that I can change settings (primarily ringtones) but I am running into a problem. I have gotten as far as having Bitpim recognize my phone so that when I click on Info it comes up with my correct number, service provider, etc... however, When i try to Get or Send Phone Data, my phone beeps, the busy icon lights up on the bottom left corner of the program, and then I get an error message. The message I receive reads as follows:

Moto-V3c on Com4: The phone is not responding while manipulating the filesystem.
See the help for troubleshooting tips.

Anyone have any suggestions as to how I can remedy this?

well, ignore above post. I fixed that, and im able to edit all of my contacts and wallpapers via bitpim, but still no luck with ringers. I did the MPT Seem and the V3mM seem but which helped me get to where i am at but no luck with the ringer. Anyone have a Seem to unlock this feature?

Edit: I should clarify, i saw Richards links to potential solutions for this, but the excel attachments he referred to are no longer live, so if the answers are in there, can someone repost them?

    thanks

Hello me and my mom just got new razr V3M and are trying to put ring tones on them with bit pim like we did with our old phones. I have followed the instructions but it keeps saying Motorola USB is on an inoperable port. I used one of my front USB ports and it worked just fine to syn music and it worked fine on our LG phones when we used Bit Pim before. But now the program won't detect our phones and I already installed the drivers. Also when I plug in the phone and it detects it the windows install wizard comes up and wants to install the drivers for it but it can't find them. If I choose "I will point to the driver I want to install" it takes me to the device list and I don't know what to put it under. Is it a modem? If I just click cancel then the balloon comes up and says "Your device may not work properly" I am really getting irritated I hate the ring tones that come on phones. I enjoy making my own and now I can't with this phone. I'm going nuts! Please help someone....
