HELP! I have a v60t phone. I have the data cable, and the USB drivers for the it. When I try to connect to the internet, the computer tries to call out through the phone. I can see it on the phone, however, it only tries for a second, then it hangs up (or gives up). I am using Windows XP pro. Is there a setting on the computer that I am supposed to set to say that it is a cell phone? When I query the modem through the computer, it finds the phone and it looks like everything is alright. Or is there a setting on the phone that I need to change? Do I need to put the phone in "Data In" mode or should I leave it the settings alone? Please help. Do I need the TrueSync software? (Because I don't have the CD). I did download the TrueSync 3.1 upgrade & the older TrueSync, but I really don't think it is what I need. Is it? Has anyone had any luck with any Motorola cell phone? Help, please!
(I'm at work right now) If I remember correctly, I turned off the wait for dial tone, it re-tries to dial after 5 seconds, ummm, and I don't remember the other settings.. I think the problem is that the computer doesn't realize that it is trying to connect through a cell phone. It doesn't realize that it has to wait for the phone to connect. I don't even know if it is pressing "Send" or not, or if it even has to.
I've never tried this, but I know previous versions of windows had a setting to not wait for a dial tone. You would probably have to do this for a cell phone. It's in the properties for the modem.
I tried that. It seems to me that because it doesn't connect right away, like a regular phone would, then it gives up. The computer doesn't give the phone time to connect.
I'm having the exact same problem trying to use my T720 as a modem. Modem diagnostics says everything is fine. I've tried everything I know. I've read about other people doing it, so I know its possible. Has to be something simple we're overlooking.
