    Yes you have to call and ask to be flagged to get it over the air.

    I have called 3 times now and i have spoke to nothing but people from another country who are clueless.Why can't an american answer.I have been told by all 3 lies.I am so pissed.I have held for a total of 30 minutes.

    I always send an email to customer care to ask to be flagged for the update. It seems to work better in my experience.

    Anyone living in Kentucky or traveling there should get this update. It adds a new roaming partner there.

    My account is flagged but neither phone seems to be sucessfully taking the update. Oh well. I'm not planning on being in Kentucky anytime soon. :)

    That happened to me before. I think the OTA system goes down a lot.

    Just tried it again and it worked just fine. Go figure. Well, now I have the new PRL. :)

    Sprint
    You don't need a PRL update when Sprint adds new towers. The PRL lists Sprint's different SID's (System Identification's) and roaming partners. Since Sprint is no longer adding any new SID's (they haven't in years) the PRL updates are mainly a cost savings benefit for Sprint as they change, add, or delete roaming partners. In some cases you can obtain better off network digital roaming coverage with a PRL update but that's about it.

    The PRL issue has caused a lot of confusion at Sprint over the years. A lot of employees have been misinformed about it's true function.
