I just got a Upre-paid phone from alltel. I got it a couple days ago and it has yet to work. Tech said it was because the pre-paid is being updated and they had problems with it. Does anyone know if this is unusual? Being my first experience with alltel, this is very disconcerting. I get the signal from the tower just fine, it says they "can't process the call". *611 works. It was updated on Monday. So it goes out 4+ days at a time sometimes? Does anyone know how close they are to fixing it? I need a phone for work. (I shouldn't have disconnected with verizon till I knew the phone worked, but I did.) Thanks for any info, Roselle
Sounds like your phone is not programmed correctly. There is no outage right now except in billings, mt concerning pre pay
You were right, my phone was programed, but not activated. Its too bad that after hours of being on the phone yesterday (mostly waiting for someone to awnser just to be transferred and on a wait list again), they couldn't help me. I'm very thankful that you responded. It was pretty quick for them to fix it today after I referenced what you wrote. Thanks a lot!
