I'm pretty new at all of this, so I hope that someone can answer my question. I just purchased a LG 5350 phone. My plan is to use the phone as a modem, and connect to my pocket pc. I had the Sanyo 4900 phone, but understand that that cannot be connected to a pocket pc, so I returned it for the 5350. I've just ordered the cable through the supplynet and should receive it in a few days. My question is: Will I just be able to connect and go.......or, am I going to need anything else to get the connection to work??????????????????
    Thank you for any help!

Here how I got my Palm and CE device working with Verizon network (Using LG-VX10). This may give you some idea to start with. However, accessing the 3G network required a USB cable, also your service provider needs to activate the wireless account (vision). Good luck.

    Palm OS:

Set the speed of the PHONE to 115,200. This is done on the menu of your cellular phone.
Now go to the Palm device and tap on PREFS then Connection and make a new connection called Verizon.
Under Connect to method choose PC or Serial to PC (not Modem) , then Via: Cradle/Cable, Dialing: Touchtone,
Volume: off . Tap Details, Speed: 115,200, Flow Ctl: Automatic and Init String: AT$QCMDR=3 and tap OK.
    Notes:
Express Network will Not work on the Handspring Visor DELUXE due to software issues. (It will work on all other
    Visors)
Now Tap on Connection and go to Networking. Under Service, change it to read: Verizon.
User Name: phone number@vzw3g.com and Password: vzw , Connection: VERIZON,
tap Details. Idle timeout: Power Off/Never , check the box for Query DNS, and check the box for IP Address:
Automatic. Tap Script and enter the following:
    Send: AT$QCMDR=3
    Send CR:
    Send:ATDT#777
    Send CR:
    Delay: 4

    Windows Pocket PC:

Set the speed of the PHONE to 115,200. This is done on the menu of your cellular phone.
Now go to the Pocket PC and disable Activesync by going to START, ACTIVESYNC then Tools then Options and
uncheck ?Enable synchronization when cradled??. If you have a portable keyboard please disable the software at
    this time.
Tap START, SETTINGS, CONNECTIONS tab. Then the Connections icon and underneath ?Internet Settings? tap
Modify then New. Create a name called ?cellular?. Then ?Select a modem?: Hayes Compatible on COM1, .Baud rate:
115,200. Tap Next , leave Country code and Area code unchanged. Phone Number: #777 Tap Next and uncheck
?Cancel call if not connected? and uncheck ?Wait for dial tone?? Under ?Extra dial-string modem commands:
    AT$QCMDR=3
    Tap Finish and OK .
Tap Dialing Locations, uncheck ?Disable call waiting?, tap Dialing Patterns only have a single letter "g" under
local calls, long distance calls, and international calls. Tap OK twice . Tap the Connections icon and Connect.
    User Name: your phonenumber@vzw3G.com
    Password: vzw
Leave domain blank and check Save password?. Then tap OK.
    Notes:
When you are outside of Express Network coverage your 14.4 connection (using
qnc, qnc and dialing #777) will work without changing anything because
outside of 1X coverage the phone will fall back and automatically use the
    14.4 (IS-95) network.
If you desire to force a 14.4 connection (using qnc, qnc and dialing #777)
when you are in Express Network (1X) coverage, you would have to change the
command in the init string from AT$QCMDR=3 to AT$QCMDR=2

[IMG] I'm stressing out big time! I've followed instructions for like three different ways to make the connection from my 5350 phone to my audiovox (maestro) pocket pc. The message I seem to keep getting is: There is no modem at the number dialed. Verify the phone number and try again. The cable I got from supplynet came with a cd and instructions. It says that if you only have a data cable, pda to phone, then you don't need any additional drivers or software. I also have sprint setup instructions (not sure where I got those), but they say that if you are using sprint's 3G high speed network then you must have dialing software installed. (I believe that's on the cd that came with the cable) I followed two different ways that were posted on this forum also, and now I'm just totally confused! Is the connection speed for the 5350 supposed to be 19200, or 115200? I've got stuff that says both. This may seem like a really silly question to most of you (I'm pretty clueless) but when I try to make the connection am I supposed to already be online on my phone, or just at the phone's main menu? Thanks for any help/suggestions.
